Wait, are we arguing that recent releases aren't seeing competitive play?

Quinn
Thresh
Vi
Nami
Zed
Elise
Kha'Zix
Syndra
Rengar
Diana

Out of their last 10 (9 available for tourneys) I count 6 that are regularly picked (Thresh, Vi, Zed, Elise, Khazix, Diana), Rengar who was a constant pick/ban for weeks, and two who have seen competitive play (Nami by the Koreans, Syndra by Link). I'm not sure where this notion that Riot is releasing bad champs comes from, if anything it's on the other end of the spectrum.

Not sure where anyone said that. He said "interesting" not "competitive."

You mean, an interesting champion that will actually see combat? Because, Quinn is about as unused as Jungle Janna/Sona.
Actually, he said that would see combat. What that means is up for interpretation but I figure it means played to any normal or viable degree. What you also have to keep in mind is with the weekly competitions and such going on the pros also don't have as much time to mess with the new champions. Do I think Quinn is viable? That is hard to say as I can't really see her bringing anything unique and she would get caught quite easily but I also haven't experimented much with her either.

@Cleanse 9 times out of 10 that is all CLG's comp ever is...protect the Vayne.

Honestly, I consider some of those champions interesting as well. Thresh has tons of movement fuckery and an interesting passive, Vi is just fun to play (maybe not that interesting I guess), Zed has his Shadow mechanic and the walk-away-from-explosions ult, Elise is the two-form champ that actually spends a lot of time switching forms, Kha'Zix has his evolution thing (which is terribly balanced at the moment so less interesting than it could be), and Syndra has 4 abilities that interact with each other and her W is hilarious. Zac is interesting from an aesthetics standpoint certainly, a couple of his abilities are fun-looking (E and R), but most of his abilities are rehashes of existing ones just like almost all champs at this point (passive that can heal him, a damage/slow, an AOE % health spam ability, a charge-up CC, an AOE knockup.)

Edit: Copenhagen Wolves mid' (Bjorgson?) uses Syndra too.

Syndra is probably my favorite AP Mid in the game at the moment. The amount of CC and Damage she brings is insane. Let's not forget she doesn't have to stop moving to cast her spells, so she's a freaking nightmare to actually kill when she gets some survivability items. Her recent E and R buffs help her a ton too, especially when she's at 40% CDR.

Man I wish I could play Elise more often but she is banned like every game. She is in top 3 funnest to play imo and most people don't know how to fight her so it's usually an easy win.

The flaw is that you are rewarded only for cases you are correct in judgement and that you can anticipate that others will judge guilty without much consideration so you probably will do the same.
In NA, about 20% of cases are pardoned.

IP Rewards were removed on September 30th, 2012.

Groupthink hasn't really been a problem in the system--there's been numerous analyses specifically testing whether it's been occurring.

Yep. I've been around these parts, ever since Zamtil was in charge and it was called noows.
Why is the community in LoL so... what's the word I'm looking for?

Dota2 has its own issues I'll agree. I've spent roughly equal hours in both and LoL has by FAR the worse community. I actually enjoy LoL but it's hard to play when you have to /ignore all almost every game.

I played HoN beta several years ago and didn't really like the genre so gave up on it. Especially disliked the community and figured it was a genre thing. Well the last couple months some friends got me into LoL pretty hard and I thought the community was great while leveling up. The only few ragers and shit talkers were the obvious alt accounts (refuse to call them smurfs, dumbest shit ever). Well once I hit 30, and especially started playing ranked, it all came back. Generally it's only 1 or 2 per team but it's consistently every game now. I guess the leveling up community now is your non-moba gamers getting into it so they don't have the piece of shit attitude that's so common. The transparency of the tribunal system really made me start reporting and leaving comments in the reports more though. Seeing those fuckers actually getting warnings and bans for that kind of attitude makes me feel it's a little less of a waste of time.

It's every single game. There's always one or two. When those one or two get really annoying it becomes all 4. This community is a step above xbox live only because there is no voice communication.

Seriously, fix this shit Lyte.

I swear over this weekend out of all the games I've played I've only had to report 1 guy. It was because he got caught at middle in a 1v3, then blamed the team for not helping him. He then rage quit immediately after.

It's also fairly easy to calm people down in chat if you actually take control of the situation. It helps if you're doing well though because honestly nobody cares to listen to a 0/8/2 player. But if you're doing well in your lane, start pinging and shit and people will actually listen to you.

Yea I'm playing with a different community than you guys I guess. I very rarely have to report anybody anymore.
