Dear LoL players,

I have a question about future trends in similar games, does the riot points store (I don't know what it's called) ever have sales?

There are also occasionally "sales" on the riot currency where, for a listed time, they give you a better ratio on the dollars/riot points exchange. I think it was done for Halloween and for Christmas, and the "sale" only kicked in for larger purchases, say greater than 100$

The sale on riot currency was for any denomination, however the bonus only applied to the "bonus riot points", not the whole package... the sale was very minimal but if you planned to buy RP anyway, then it was certainly better than nothing.

This is a copy/paste from another site of the sale:
The "extra bonus RP" is what you gained from the sale

$10.00 - 1460 RP (1300 + 80 standard bonus RP + 80 extra bonus RP)
$20.00 - 3000 RP (2600 + 200 standard bonus RP + 200 extra bonus RP)
$35.00 - 5450 RP (4550 + 450 standard bonus RP + 450 extra bonus RP)
$50.00 - 7900 RP (6500 + 700 standard bonus RP + 700 extra bonus RP)
$100.00 - 17000 RP (13000 + 2000 standard bonus RP + 2000 extra bonus RP)

The champion and skin sale is actually two sets of 3 of each every week, typically. Occasionally more if they do a weekend one. Plus they just had that sale on rune pages. Riot is pretty great as far as sales go, to be honest. They also have special sales when skins are being retired or brought back.

have convinced some solo queue players to let me 2v1 the enemy top as ADC - haven't lost doing it yet. fairly amusing turning the map advantages around on unsuspecting players

I'm back on this bitch.

Support - Going blitz atm. Going to get either Zyra, Thresh or Ice Witch when she drops depending.
ADC - Varus/Graves
AP - Xerath / Brand /Malz
Top - Cho (op lol), AD Sion (every now and then is great top), Jarvan
Jungle - Olaf (rarely), Fiddle (aw yiss), Rengar (playing as much as I can right now)

Have many others but these are just my picks atm.

Add Nirgon for games. I just grind them unranked all picks, got no time for try-hard-rage ranked unless its a fully fledged and approved team of 5.

If you like Blitz support I'd definitely recommend Thresh. His pulls are really more like stuns but he brings so much more utility than Blitz. And his chain costs like no mana so it doesn't punish you at all for missing except the cooldown. Just be prepared to rage on the fails that don't click lanterns.

With the PBE change of max stack Pots at 5, what do you think would be a decent start for Zed Top?

Rejuv Bead + Ward + Pots.

Longsword + Pots.

Red pot + ward + Pots.

Cloth Armor + Pots.

Probably any of those would be fine depending on the matchup.

Thresh doesn't have the pop up after the grab then silence. Shit's lethal.

But I do like him mucho.

Never played this game, but some guy I work with on mineral deals is into it (oddly enough). Told him I'd fire it up this weekend and monkey around on it. Any advice for a total noob - which champs to grab (thinking of throwing down maybe $20) etc? Reading through the noob threads on their website - seems like a lot to take in....

best way to start your champ collection is to purchase the starter pack.

You don't need to drop $20 though. Just start using the free champs and begin leveling up to 30. The free champs rotate out weekly.

Yeah, just play the freebies and hold on to the IP that you earn. If you like the game and want to put forth some dollars there are some champion bundles that aren't bad. T1 runes are fine but T2 runes are a rookie trap. Never buy those.

I always recommend that people have fun play the free champs for at least a few weeks. If they find they are really enjoying the game the 20 dollar starter pack is a really good deal and gives you a nice compilation of champs to fill every major role. Going forward from there it is easy enough to save up IP for any champ that you see during the free weeks that really trips your trigger. It is nice to have at least some stable champs to play with so you can practice with them and get good.
