Yeah, wait until people get more XP with her or she is in the hands of a good player.. I'm just saying from a numbers standpoint she's been pushed into the stratosphere. She's literally gotten a buff in every patch since April. Decreased mana costs, decreased cooldowns, increased damage, and now a fairly decent self heal. Despite a 900+ page thread on the LoL forum from Karma players raging at the remake and asking for a better kit (or one more similar to old Karma), Riot has insisted she's just undertuned and so has been throwing number buff after number buff at her.I just went against Karma mid as Kayle mid, I didn't think she was too OP. She derped my jungler and took double buffs in a 2v2 trade, but she didn't stay too far ahead. Granted I doubt she was a confident and comfortable Karma player.
She used to imho have the most unique kit in the league. A .8AP ratio shield that could be empowered to do AOE damage with the same ratio, a .7AP AoE dmg cone Q that when empowered also healed any ally in the AoE, and a .7AP ratio tether W that could be attached to ally or enemy, slowing/speeding and doing damage to anybody crossing the tether. Oh yeah, her passive at lvl 18 and at 30% health also gave her an extra 130 AP. She was widely considered as UP because she couldn't fit a dedicated role in Summoner's rift. She could support but needed AP (which is a no no), and though she was a lane bully mid, she couldn't carry as well as a dedicated AP carry late game. However on a map where she could build AP like dominion or TT, she was pure beast in the right hands. No joke you could drop a 750HP shield late game that did 750 AOE dmg followed by an AOE Q doing 600 dmg that also healed all your front liners for 300 or so HP. Old Karma with low health and some AP could 100-0 most squishies. Morello wanted her team heal gone and her W mechanic was "bad" because other players needed to know how to make the best use of it, so now they remade her into a bland AP poke mid.Karma looks pretty decent. Shields, slows, some damage. Did that shit used to be so weak that no one cared?
Yeah, pretty much this. There's a 900+ page thread on the LoL forums, mainly from previous Karma players, ranting about how her "revamp" pretty much deleted Old Karma as the new one has nothing in common with the old except for the shield which now has a .5AP ratio instead of .8. Morello basically said her team heal was "unfun" and her passive was "trollish" so she necessitated a complete gutting. So now you just run around spamming Q endlessly instead.. Her biggest problem now is that her main harass tool (Q) is also the only way she can clear minions, which means simultaneously keeping the wave at bay while harassing your opponent is quite problematic. She is way OP right now, but her kit is just unfun to play.
This person sounds like a total scumbag. I hope you reported him.I won't name fed Brand with 5 kills in like 12 minutes. Ahem.
She's actually more of a top laner now with her W buff, followed by mid. She can do "ok" as support, but there are definitely better picks.I tried Karma out last night as a bottom lane support and if I get a decent build down, it might be pretty fucking awesome.
Play her like an aggressive Janna. I was playing with Miss Fortune and shielding her with extra speed just to initiate, then toss out an empowered Q to slow is just devastating. It doesn't hurt either that your Q is on a really short CD as well. The one skill that is useless was my W since I hardly got in range. Then again I only played a few games and the first two had issues since one game our Mid DC'd at the start of the game and couldn't log back in, and then someone who I won't name fed Brand with 5 kills in like 12 minutes. Ahem.
Third game we stomped on them and we never got to a team fight phase where I can stay in the pack and use W properly as well as empowered E. Fucking AOE shielding + Damage is sick though.
I think the key to Karma might be getting boots earlier than a normal support build just so you can poke and W properly early and mid game.
Thanks for the unlocks. Know of any others? You can get Alistar for free with a skin for him bysubscribing to them on youtube.
Similarly, you can get Tristana free with a skin forliking them on facebookalthough it can be a little buggy andsometimes requires a workaround.
Alistar and Taric are really boring to play. Taric's the stronger of the 2 but they both just sit around a lot waiting for an opportunity to do something. Alistar can make more plays and he's flashier but his plays are never huge. They generally consist of using everything to peel for the ADC or using his full combo just to single 1 person out. Then back to doing nothing.
If you like playing aggressive you'll probably fall in love with Leona although if you're with a random ADC and they don't know how to play with her as support it's easy for her to become pointless. Opportunity comes up to go all in, Leona goes all in, ADC is sitting back at tower farming minions oblivious, Leona's now out of position but is so tanky with her W she just walks away twiddling her thumbs. She's my favorite support by far but I'll never play her except with friends and even then we usually don't play her often. Her best lane partner I feel is Varus as they can just punish anyone with poke, zoning, and CC for kills. Varus has huge range and poke which can get them down a little bit. After that Leona can initiate and stun them long enough for Varus to finish. Varus isn't the burstiest ADC but all of his abilities deal damage so a full combo can still hurt quite a bit and you can't miss his Q when they're Leona stunned. Your bot lane also then brings 2 AE stuns that can be devastating.
And as said above, never Teemo support. It makes no sense why people even think he's viable. Almost every champion in the game can support better than him. I'll also toss in Fiddlesticks as another fun kill lane support. Fear can get kills easily and the silence is so annoying and damaging. At 6 they usually are just too afraid to do anything back at you.
