Think he did The Blackcoat's Daughter, which is a great slow burn horror movie. Definitely will check this out. Thanks for posting it.

Watched the trailers and then had to do a double take when I saw Nic Cage in the credits.

Not sure if this is a red herring in the overall story or with the marketing, but he apparently plays the serial killer.

Damn, and here I was hoping for a movie about women with really long legs.

Hearing it's on par with Silence of the Lambs and The Ring. It's being compared to genre-defining movies/award winners.

Not sure if it's hype, the bar is pretty low these days-- but I've got people going to check it out 7pm tonight.

can't help but be reminded of the 8-bit shrieks and dialogue in FAITH every time that distorted scream sound came up in those trailers

Yeah I'm interested in real theater reactions at this point. Would be funny if the wheels fall off the wagon once audience gets a hold of it.

I have a screening of this scheduled for Saturday night. It will be weather dependent though because it's in an Open Air :D

Frontline feedback is coming in.

It's a move you watch twice-- without saying any more than that, because of potential spoilers.

If the movie is worth two or three watches, it does put it near The Ring and Lambs as those were repeat viewings for horror fans.

Seems it wasn't just hype and this one delivered.

I mean, I have watched SOTL probably 15 times in my life - but Im sure a good chunk of those was on CCTV on deployment. I revisit it every 5-7 years for fun, cause its that good.

That said, anything made in the last 15 years worth watching 3 times would make it one of the best films of the last 2 decades. Now I have high hope.

Hereditary is that way. I rewatched it earlier this year for the first time in a while, I didn't remember some of the scenes, but at least allowed me to pay more attention to those subtle clues of what's going on, we're upon the first viewing in the theater I probably didn't notice a lot of stuff. There are good indie flicks out there that are worth a repeated viewing, they're just fine for you between.

I guess pretty excited for this film though.

This was really good, definitely an Oz Perkins movie in pacing and atmosphere. It follows along with his other movies in being a lot less traditional horror and a lot more unsettling. Nic Cage was incredibly creepy. Overall it was a very well made movie, will definitely watch it again to catch more because there are a ton of visuals to catch in every frame
