So far everything is working on the PC at max settings. There is one annoying thing tho, every once in awhile the sound will cut off for a fraction of a second.

Anyone know if there is a workaround for that?

I should clarify that you can upgrade via runes that add different states or effects.

The big draw back is only some weapons so far has slots for runes.

After yesterday's patch my frame rate issues outdoors disappeared. Exponentially increased my enjoyment of the game.

After making it past the mage boss I referred to you meet the smith who sockets them for you.
All i could do with him was indentify the runes, there wasn't anything about socketing gems though?

The most i've died is twice to that graveyard boss vulken mentioned, before i realized i should probably go stand in the light when he does his gigantic aoe lol

Power levels increase fairly rapidly. Had large problems killing the enemies with the big shields and swords until I got Quake 2. Close to oneshot them now as it bypasses blocking. Explored most of the catacombs (a few areas I can't seem to find how to enter) and killed the lord. Just met the smith now. Already 12 or so hours played, so will probably take me much longer than 15 hours to do.

Don't see this having as much replayability as a souls game though. Started a rogue character too, and it feels very similar to the warrior. Not like Dark Souls where you can have quite a few different playstyles and as such feel very different when replaying it. I can see myself maybe going for NG++ to unlock the two new skills, but doubt I will start a new character playthrough.

EDIT: Quake 3 does nearly 800 damage with a full connect. Think I encountered a miniboss, could hear the audio track of a fight start as it came towards me, then the music stopped after a few notes due to it dying in one hit.

Also, the Clawfinger is great (graveyard lords weapon)

http://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Clawfinger

Special attack creates one of those pillars from the ground. Uses around 10% of the mana per hit. The heavy attack in itself does around 120 damage while the pillar knocks enemies on the ground and does another 50. Great part is that it also hits anything you have locked on to, regardless of LOS or distance. If you are locked on, pillar will come up from underneath them. So can cheese mobs with it behind walls or from above.

Those guys can eat a dick. I rounded a corner after killing the Commander, thinking I'd just continue on, and stumbled into one of those. Apparently an area I simply wasnt prepared for. I haven't been putting any points into magic (I'm using Deception, have Mimic 1) or Faith but clearly that's doing it wrong.

I learned that the projectile gauntlet with a purple rune in it, turns it into a little mini turret.
Works really good for those big ass shield weilding mobs. You can just kite them around with the turret behind them, it'll usually take them to half health or so

I still need to find the Heirloom/Sven's hammer, seems kinda OP lol

Overall I liked this game but it has some glaring problems. There are crashes, and also it runs like shit. Still looks good on all low settings though. Compared to a souls game, it has very few different environments (although the graphics are very very nice in them) and few ennemies. Also less bosses. Combat was nice, which is good since souls game combat is the only sort I enjoy now. Story was ok. Overall I'd rate it at 30-35$ if you like souls games.

I am somewhat stuck now it seems. Killed the last lord, and now there is this long scene, and it keeps crashing the nvidia drivers. No warning or stuttering, runs flawlessly, then audio stops and the game crashes. Since there is no save point, it starts at the beginning of that area every time.

/sigh

EDIT: Got past it. First tried lowering all settings, still crashes. Then tried maxing every option there was, and suddenly no more crashes.

Mobs have started warping though. Warp through floors, disappear, spawn in previously cleared areas... Last area (I assume it is) seems somewhat broken.

Having played it for 25 hours now, if someone is on the fence of buying it, I would hold off until you see mention of patches that fix
- FPS problems (not a problem for me, but TB with two titans can't even get it to hold 60fps, he is currently upgrading to two 980 " to make it weep". He planned on this being his first 60fps youtube video)
- Crashes
---- crashes tied to overheating. GPU in this game runs very hot.
- Bugged weapons / items / NPCs

Decent game, but it is no Dark Souls. Bosses are much too easy as well. Did most of them in one try. For NG+ though I will try to read up on the bosses to find out how to make them drop their best loot. IE: Gravelord, let him kill 2 of his spawned minions, and he will drop his weapon. I got that by chance.

Update on crashes.

I think mine at least are directly due to gpu temps. Normally using HW monitor, I rarely see GPU temps above 55 under load, maybe 60 (Celsius). With this game, it rises up to 90 then locks up the game, and goes down rapidly after that. Just closed the game at 83c (183f)

See other people talk about that on steam too, and people are commenting on the airflow, but I have never had a problem with the temperature on this computer until this game, so I think there is something in it that makes it more gpu intensive than any other game I have.

Can someone tell me about the patches and fixes for this game on PS4? (This is a safe site for work).

I got it for $8 so like, can't really be too harsh of a critic. Performance is terrible a lot of times though and the camera is fucking horrible.

I like this game, but I want to love it. Not sure if I ever can without some sort of mods. WHY IS everything everything everything in this game so fucking SLOW? Everything swings at the speed of a slow weapon in other games with the exception of like daggers and fists which have all sucked thus far. I want to use so many other weapons but I am pigeonholed to one or two out of twenty because I cannot fucking stand a literal 3.5 second swing speed. Do patches address any weapon or item values of signifance in this field? I understand it is most likely done on purpose, just curious.

If the pace were doubled, camera/lock on fixed, you could roll at forty five degree angles and roll speed adjusted to normal for side and backwards rolling I would be over the moon with this game. As it is, I can barely get through it without frustrating the fuck out of myself.

All that said, there are a lot of positives to this game. It looks good and if *feels* good for sure. I hate the bulky character though and lack of creation definitely sucked but whatever.

Itemization is fantastic and have found tons of different weapons, armor, and items for a variety of builds from the very start of the game. Game has.surprising depth in ways that are not immediately apparent. The XP and loot system is very neat. The skill system is incredibly generic and poorly thought out, but whatever. Is what it is.
I'm a few hours in, just killed Worshiper. Did all side quests up to here (using a guide for the first time in years cause I just dont give a fuck about the experience or lore of this game frankly).
I am treating this game as a single player Diablo with better bosses and honestly it's treating me well from that perspective.

As someone who's put literally thousands of hours into five different Souls titles, one thing certainly is clear. If they had decided to not copy every single goddamn mechanic (except the smart ones like free rolling durr durr), they just might have had a truly exceptional game on their hands. They just went a little too far and honestly no one will do Souls better than Souls. Should have just been Souls paced combat with everything else different. Oh well.

I like this game but as I said earlier...I want to love it! I just can't. Yet. Haven't connected it to the internet yet, so curious about patches if someone can help me out.

Steam Update
We would like to announce that the 'Nvidia turbulence' and v-sync options are now available in the advanced in-game video settings with the latest update. Disabling these options will improve the game performance and avoid most of the stability issues.
In order to disable the Nvidia turbulence, please do the following:
1. Launch the game
2. Enter advanced settings in options menu
3. Select 'Nvidia turbulence'
4. Switch the option to 'disabled'
5. Apply changes
6. Restart the game

If you are having problems with the options not being saved after restarting the game, please try changing and applying the settings using a gamepad. We are aware of this issue and it is going to be patched ASAP.
