Stuck it out, and as I got to learn some of my abilities, and got more used to the controls it has worked out really well. Realized there are only a few abilities that you end up using and it can fit between 1-6 basically. Easy peasy.
So now that I'm slowing down a bit, is there a class that plays into that MMO speed, versus ARPG speed where you can stand back and lob bombs and be effective? Sharpshooter or Sorc maybe? I just saw the video about cursor aiming so I'm hoping that changes things but I was getting super annoyed with the Berserker and missing melee hits.

Cursor aiming helps a ton with every class, as long as you aren't dogshit at landing skillshots. If you are, I'd keep it on tbh.
What do you mean when you say MMO speed? You should be taking a more "methodical" approach to EVERY class. That's the massive mistake I made at the start, is trying to play it like an ARPG and run around like a spaz. Don't get me wrong, Lost Ark is way faster paced than your typical MMO, but you don't need to "rush" shit. Land a skill, move out of boss shit, land a skill, reposition, land a skill, etc. Treat it more like League of Legends rather than POE.
On a separate note, I cant' wait for all the shitter Paladins to get pushed out of this game. "IM DEEEPEEEESSSSSSSS!". That's probably the #1 reason I want to make one my main, despite enjoying some other classes slightly more.

Good point. I need to quit being greedy when fighting a boss and just land a skill, back away, etc. I'm gonna pick a Ranged class for sure as one of my Power-ups when I hit level 50 on the Berserker I think.

I tried really hard to find any superiority design-wise to BDO and came up short. It's the latest shiny and it's F2P-- everyone's going to grab it. People tout the Lost Ark combat that BDO already veritably shit on as well. LA doesn't have too many strengths over past MMO releases.

I find Lost Ark to be enjoyable as shit and a ton of fun. The combat system is a blast, even if it's a bit "different". That said, I've always maintained and continue to maintain that BDO is the best combat system of any MMO to-date. As boring as grinding mobs over and over is, you don't mind doing it in that game because combat is just so goddamn fun. It's too bad they were so predatory with their cash shop.

No chance. For a LOT of boomers, this will be the first time in a while where they realize they're shit at gaming now. A lot of them will get pissed at this realization and move on.

I think you're absolutely wrong about this. Of course it's going to see a drop off (what game doesn't) but LA is here to stay with a significant population. The game just has too many avenues to progress your character and enjoy combat even if you're shit at the game. The reception has been fantastic and there's literally more content coming down the pipeline along with a bunch of new classes. People have wanted an MMO so bad, they were even willing to play garbage like NW. Now there's a F2P option that doesn't force you to swipe to enjoy yourself and the team behind it was 'hoping' for 200k players? Yeah, I think we're good here for awhile.

So the US West FoH hasn't had anyone try to join and if so few people are going to play on the West, maybe it's best we shut it down and try and join a more active guild?

Firesofheaven is full on Regulus (we just level'd and filled the slots). There's an alternative guild (RerolledFoH I think?) that you should be able to search for and get an invite while we clear more slots.
For the main guild - if someone reaches lvl 50 and needs an invite, whisper me on Discord. We clear as needed so people can coordinate for Guardians / Abyss Dungeons and will invite (or re-invite) those a little slower accordingly.

Oh, absolutely dude. I'm not saying "lol ded game" at all. I know this game has legs, for certain. I just think a LOT of F2P players are going to check out after "the rush" dies down. Once the boomers start hitting difficult content, they're going to check the fuck out. Summit already checked out after like his very first Guardian fight.
On another note, I'd highly recommend capping your FPS in this game. My 5900x was pegging at 80c most nights and I couldn't figure out what the hell was causing it. Ended up limiting my FPS to 80 and processor power in advanced power settings to 99% and temps are solidly 55-60c with occasional spikes to 72c now.
