Found it. Again I don't know much about it, but it was given to me in response to a direct question about purchasing level 50's.

This was provided after I asked "how much does it cost". I don't understand the currency and didn't see a USD value amount, so I dropped the subject right after since his screenshot reply made no sense to me and I was busy playing another game.

He did go on to tell me he liked Zerker a lot and he seemed to imply he was playing on a new level 50 character that he just purchased from the store.

The implication was you can purchase level 50's directly from the store. If you have another interpretation or more information go ahead and drop it now.
That chest doesn't lvl you to 50, it is a lvl up box that rewards some crystals for every 10 lvls you reach to 50. If that friend is claiming they bought a 50 on release day, then they bought an account.

Anyone know how the f you get your "free 50's"? Apparently I have to use the knowledge transfer at my stronghold cuz powerpass doesn't work?

edit: apparently you get one in the mail when you hit 50, just noticed

How important are gunlancers, or are they just a tankier version of DPS? It's what I ended up rolling. I have no clue on the end game stuff,.
You can view a Gunlancer as mild DSP + Support, really good class to have around, imo.

You don't. You first need to lvl 1 character to 50. This unlocks your first Powerpass, you claim it and use it. It then becomes active at character select, when you make a new character you can use the Powerpass on that new character to have be lvl50. Once you use the first Powerpass, you get the second one, claim it and use it. Now its ready at character select for another new character.

Reaching lvl50 also unlocks Knowledge Transfer at your Stronghold. Using this boost will cost you a base of 600g and will work the same way as the Powerpass (the lvl up aspect, not sure about the mechanics of it). You can use the KT to boost a character as far as you've reached on your main character though. Lets say your main has finished all MSQ content, you can use the KT to select how far you want to boost a new character, but the cost scales up pretty high.

Im not entirely sure how this happened, but I ended up with Paladin as my guy I got to 50. I think because I was waiting to play other classes with friends but then they all flaked...

I kinda enjoy it actually. I'm mostly using him as a caster which seems lightyears more useful than his sword attacks.

I'm pretty pumped to get back into the grind today. Think we left Thursday. I should have a full 5 days of shit to run. Since I'm at 330 ilvl, I'm thinking of doing guardians to get to 340, then abyss for the set, and then grind out a ton of chaos dungeons and whatever is left of guardians.

And then I can finally get into some of the side stuff I haven't gotten to play with like islands, boats, and collectibles.

Good video on bard vs. paladin support comparison

hrm. that makes bards sound like shit. may swap out of that character... ground targeted mid/small aoe for heals/buffs, which require wrangling cats dodging enemy aoe's to stand in YOUR aoes.. versus just giant aoe auto buff. while again bard has to pick, damage or heals, while paladin does both in one.

Kind of a shit design there. When you first join a guild, you're "new" and can't get guild rewards...but also can't contribute. And since everyone is new at the start, @Voldeth was carrying the guild.
also, from what I could tell, guilds are per character.

I'd say they are wanted as much as a bard or pally. So no group will say no to a Gunlance. They are a tankier dps, but you really are utility. My job in raids is taunt when Billy is about to get eaten. Taunt to disrupt that bosses ability. COUNTER as much as possible to build stagger on boss (stun him for DPS to go bananas).

If you go the full Combat Rediness (Tankier Gunlance). You pretty much will not die unless it's a one shot mechanic. If you go Lone Knight (DPS for Gunlance), you pretty much won't die nearly as much as the rest of DPS. You are usually at the monsters head, so your chances go up more that you will get hit with a big ability.

The backstep instead of evades that everyone else has, has killed me more than anything. Just feels unnatural to me. Takes a lot of practice.

vg was saying gunlancer is great in random content, but if you're in a static you prob just want another dps. Ultimately you're going to be doing this shit on at least 3 characters so why not have one be a gunlancer?

Question about the power pass, is that a one time thing, or is it once per server? If I wanted to roll a dude on us-west with friends, do I get two power passes for hitting 50 on that server as well? For a game that launched into beta in 2016, there is actually barely any useful content online about it, just a bunch of clickbait sites with 400 ads and a mid article break telling you what a power pass is.
lots of shit has goofy round about explainations so far for sure. i imagine they outsourced the translation to some one who outsourced it a few tiers down.
Beyond the before mentioned 'iron ore from copper nodes', there are all kinds of goofy errors in the translations. Lots of incorrect pronouns (the outrage) and just plain wrong stuff like when you're going after Toroyks wisdom, you receive it then the next zone says that the pirates are protecting it and that you're going for it? There are also weird edits where you just show up with a wagon wheel for the quest or something as if you missed a step.

I am all rolled up on Regulus since last night played a little this morning up through the first dungeon quest thing.

Killing shit is fun in this but the story and voice acting is painfully bad to the point I tune out what I can. There is an overwhelming amount of currency and side bullshit. I wish games these days could tone that shit down a tad but whatever like I said visually and fighting side of it feels good. It's plays more like and ARPG reminds me a lot of D3 just with way way more shit I will never care about attached to it.

Islands will get a lot of mats to boost you up quickly - the shit starts hitting the fan at like 520+ WITH ALL THESE MOTHER FUCKING UPGRADE FAILURES WTF RNG GOD DAMN

Playing this casually. The amount of "pay2progressfaster" shit in the cash shop turns me off big time.

I'm on Regulus. My name is Svetyana, death blade assassin. Just started fooling around with the game for a few hours. Graphics are stunning, story is kinda bleh, but I'm guessing no one is playing this MMO for the story. Anyway, if you guys have started a guild on the server, I'd love to join!
the story starts off super wooden. i find it to be a bit interesting now (level 34?)

Gunlancers are great. They're one of, if not the most OP class out there. Tanky, DPS, some support skills, etc. They're badass. I'd play one if I could ever get used to their fucking dash, but I just can't, malfunctions my brain.
it took me a long time to like it. i may have stockholm syndrome. but basically i use to to correct my direction. your guy jumps away from the cursor so you keep it on the boss or group of mobs. hit move skill. do the fat kit hop backward. and suddenly all the monsters are lined up for a line attack or dash forward thrust.

and being a gunlancer you just lean into the special attacks with your shield up.

None of that stuff matters. Harmony stones are all that matters and its making me angry seeing it at 0 and after failing multiple upgrades.

Fucking hell, i managed to stay connected all day while homeworking to avoid the fucking EU DC queues shenanigans, only for my router to decide to reboot by itself just as I was finishing up work and looking forward to play.

Can't even get into queue now.

Turned off dialogue audio, much better.

On Regulus, rolled an assassin/deathblade to start.

Game seems fun, looks pretty and runs well enough so far on my potato PC.
