Are you guys nuts? The rip is 1080p. Sure it isn't a FULL 1080p 20GB rip, but it still looks damn good on my admittedly not attog quality 55" plasma.
And for the record, like others I saw it twice in theaters and will buy the bluray, but I wanted to watch it again last night so I downloaded it.

It's a rip from Soviet iTunes, so it is practically as good as you would get if you actually rented it when it comes out (vs. buying the bluray). This is probably one of the best "out within a month of release" copies I've ever seen, so if you don't want to wait until Thanksgiving'ish to watch it at home, this is more than good enough.

Mad Max Blu Rays are expected Sept 2015 which means it'll be on pirate sites around late August, so yeah the rips out right now are probably as good as you'll get for a while. Outside theaters.
Generally though I wait for bluray rips for home viewing, the video bitrate difference between the early stream rips and the bluray rips are tremendous.
Still this is a movie worthy of a trip to theaters, which is pretty rare nowadays. Maybe 2-3 movies a year for me.

They should have had a human and horse skelly in the background with the big boy head laying next to it as a subtle reference... but that would have to put bartertown within range (of a horse) of wherever they put that easter egg. I am still thinking and feeling thunderdome is the "last" time-wise- we have to consider if thunderdome was fimed today bartertown would have been large and stuff like the citadel would be.
I could go on, I love every MM movie, they all are different yet similar - the only one that does not always hit me with "I want to re watch this" is the first one, its only every now and then.
