Posting here in case there’s any interest.

Going to sell my SubPress 2nd and 3rd printing of the series if anyone is interested. It is kind of a mess with what is going on since the quality control ran crazy bad.

2nd printing is Gardens of the Moon and Deadhouse Gates. They both had QC issues so SubPress decided to do a third printing starting over with Gardens which was just delivered today.

So anyways, I have two copies of GotM and one Deadhouse Gates. And I can make sure you have rights to buy the remaining books in the series. $550 is my random guess bc I have no idea where prices land between the two printings now. Not much above cost.

Let me know if any questions. I’ll post in the Facebook group in a few days if no responses.

Finished my 3rd re-read of the main 10. Last time was 2 odd years ago. I remembered it all this time (first time - 2nd time was a 10 year gap and I forgot a lot). This time .....was a bit of a slog. I had to make myself basically finish books 8-1st half of book 10. Last time I skipped the snake until (well you know). This time I would read a paragraph and if I recalled it went nowhere I'd just skip it. Seems like he did a lot of padding on the last 3 books to make it 10 total. Still my favorite series of all time but it will be a long while before I read them again.
Started 'The God is not willing' this morning.

The Broken Binding printings are supposed to ship in January. Looking forward to seeing them. However, I now have TBB editions of The Dragonbone Chair and Stone of Farewell (Green Angel Tower is on the way), and I gotta say I’m not super impressed with the quality. Hopefully their Malazan series is a little better.

I was planning on doing my 2nd full reread and 3rd overall this summer but I have some downtime the next couple weeks and may just do it now. I'll have to see how much I enjoy it, but his latest book was a very smooth read and reminded me why he's the best. Talking about slog, I'm 2 books behind on Sanderson's SL archive and wading through 80% of blah to get to the good stuff for 2 straight books is not very exciting at this time. Probably waiting until summer for that one.

I'm assuming you mean 'The God is not willing' , yes it was a very smooth read and it's what made me re-read the 2nd time. Unfortunately, it's looking like 2026 for the 2nd one. Grrr.

Well I just finished "The God is not Willing" read #2. I'm still not sure what the point of
all the mining and sensless killing
at the end was for but it's well written. Now I'm in a dry patch so I'll try the new J.A. Corey (The expanse) series.

Interesting. Definitely outside of my normal wheelhouse - if it isn't fantasy/sci-fi I'm not reading it, basically. MBoTF is far and away my favorite series, though. Looking forward to seeing this author's insights about it. Just ordered, thanks.

Erikson plugged it on some podcast I think it was so hopefully it is legit. Without an excerpt or review it is a gamble but it would be hard to say someone is “cashing in” on the Malazan name. Not like this is LotR or anything.

Let me know what you 2 think of it. Looks like you cannot get it in ebook, which really sucks. This is also my all time favorite series. Got really hyped when I saw there was activity in this thread.

There's a guy in the Facebook Malazan group, Santiago Lozano, that does artwork based on the series. I'd really love to have a space to put some framed stuff up b/c a few pieces are incredibly cool. Just saw this one posted of Tayschrenn. Man I want that on my wall on a Displate or something and 99.9% of the time I hate stupid stuff on my walls. They're basically blank.

The Broken Binding sets came in today and my office is a complete mess b/c I'm also putting together a new desk and having to move everything around. They're pretty nice, definitely a step above regular hardbacks. Some of the artwork is really nice, snapped a few pictures of the inside fronts and backs. I actually like the naked boards rather than the jacket. These have all been around Facebook and what not but if someone else hasn't seen them too many pictures below:

Didn't realize how bright those desk lamps I moved were until looking at the pictures her, jeez.

Fuckin awesome dude. That art is great, Gardens in particular.

Haven’t read much of Fall and Ascent yet. I knew it would be scholarly but I need to get myself in the right frame of mind before I try and tackle that bad boy. The preface from Erikson gives me hope that the book will be worthwhile.

kept hoping it would come out in an E format but no joy. Just bought my first physical book in I don't know how long (other than electrical code books).

Yeah, same here. It is hard for me to do physical books just because my main reading time is in bed and short of using one of those little clip-on lights it has to be Kindle. Wife is like uber sensitive to light at night. Which is fine, I enjoy it pitch black also for sleeping but still like to read before bed for an hour or so.

Welp I'm quoting myself, that's never good. I gave it a good ol' try but this book is going back. Should have a giant warning on the front:
WARNING: THIS IS A PHILOSOPHY BOOK DISQUISED AS A FANTASY BOOK.
Plus I'm spoiled, I like being able to look up words that I don't recognize and/or are used in a way that does not seem right. The author is one of those peeps that uses big words just to use them.

Err yea, I think the description of the book made it pretty clear it’s not a fantasy novel, but rather an examination of the MBotF through a philosopher’s (Jung) lens.

Still haven’t made any progress on this read either, because it’s not exactly my cup of tea, but I do intend to read it at some point.

If you are saying I didn't pay enough attention, I'd agree 100%. Dunno who Jung was but that book was not for me (tm). Thankfully Amazon takes returns.
