I see Baam doing something honorable near the end of the game that makes him "lose," but the last clone saves him for the win and then leaves with Rachel. He finishes his training so he can fight the last clone at a later date. I mean, Baam isn't going to let White's hostages die either.
I'm interested to see how the author handles Baam's motivation/the Rachel situation. Depending on the outcome here, Baam's motivation for the climbing the tower to this point may be gone. It would be a refreshing change as well. I think it is time to move on from Rachel to a new story arc. It could be that Rachel reveals Baam's past which provides the new motivation, son of one of the families that was left out of the tower, etc...
