It just plain isn't a very good unique. Outside of a select few many of the 'any hero' uniques are worse than the hero-specific unique in the same slot. That one, however, is just plain wonky. And you don't need to stack an individual stat because once they get to a certain level they don't offer benefit (like it goes from 25% to 26%.) Colossus, for example, hits that level on strength and durability with his uniques and leveling up. So you need one additional +fighting stat which you get from a costume core.

Like I said I can't think of any hero who would specifically build around that item instead of just using their chest slot unique. But I also don't know every hero's build. Even without the penalties (not sure why they're there) it isn't that good an item.

Also took the past day to level Cyclopes up to 50. Need even more XP boost!

The only decent stats on that unique are the strength and durability, which IM doesn't really need at 60, unless you have a melee heavy build? And leveling it to 60 won't change those two stats. You could level it to 40, which is reasonably cheap, but I wouldn't go farther than that.

At what point does the game get moderately difficult. I am currently half way through the heroic difficulty setting (lvl 35 ish) and things just flop over as I walk by them. Yellows take maybe 6 seconds to kill, and bosses can threaten once in a great while. I was hoping to be able to play this as a diablo alternative with friends, but with no obvious difficulty scaling it's not even a challenge solo so far.

Well there is Cosmic Terminals coming soon

Cosmic Terminals, aka "Gold Terminals"

All enemies are all level 63.

All loot is usable at level 60.

Every terminal has a Cosmic version. The bosses of these terminals are challenging, not just from raw numbers, which tests gear and builds, but particularly when it comes to avoidance of their core mechanics, which tests skill. Expect overall difficulty to be 2-3 times that of a red terminal.

Will include a rewarding optional mechanic to clear the terminal before attacking the mian supervillain.

Chance to drop cosmic items from normal enemies is higher and cosmic medallions from supervillains is higher.

Cosmic upgrade tokens can drop (allow you to upgrade your purple gear to cosmic without using Unstable Molecules).

Cosmic Doop.

Cosmic Rings are available from these zones.

All enemies feature some kind of cosmic enhancement affecting their damage, mobility, resistance to attacks, durability or other minor affect in addition to other affixes.

Cosmic terminals are not part of the "daily" system and do not have daily cube shards. They are each a tough challenge by themselves.

Cosmic terminals will play a role in an event much later in 2014.

These will be released into testing by end of January and live once they are verified to be working properly.

I am really tempted to throw down on the Advance pack. I figure if I do not spend any more money on the game during 2014, it'll basically be a MMO sub. Plus it'll give me something to shoot for now, to prepare for the new heroes/content. Also a free Ghost Rider if you do it before the end of the year. Gaz really knows how to get money thats for sure.

I think many people have commented on how tempting and easy it is to put money towards this game. You get a lot of value (at least by Gaz standards) out of that pack.

Though what you quoted still stands true, the individual prices of some heroes and most costumes is silly.

The hero packs are usually decent value but buying a single hero or costume is somewhat expensive.

I still love having bought the ultimate pack at the beginning. I also bought the new pack. F2P games are damn expensive.

I enjoy leveling the heroes to 30 or so. With the new xp bonus for having level 60, I'll probably level a few soon.

I think Gazillion is probably the best company right now, this isn't the greatest game but they do a spectacular job with it I think and I have no issue supporting them.

It's not really a hard game or whatever. It's just a chill monster slaying game. There's not really a death penalty that matters much so ehh. It's good clean fun.

Just started this game yesterday, and chose colossus as my starting hero. Dear god is herp-derping around the map using Osmium Charge hilariously fun.

At least you chose wisely as Colossus is pretty good. Some of the heroes are god awful to play at early levels.

So what is the overall consensus of the game? I've been hearing good things lately. I haven't played since beta and early release. Nothing wrong with the game then but it didn't hold my attention. Any major changes or anything that makes it worthwhile?

I disliked the game in beta, stopped playing a little before release. I came back about a week ago and I'm enjoying it a lot more. They have definitely added a lot to the game, mostly end game and quality of life changes.

The game is still pretty grindy. The fastest way to level is to grind legendary quests and sit in Midtown. The story is pretty fleshed out and the storyline zones are varied, but the game is fairly easy unless you zone into a place higher than your level. The one thing I missed about this game compared to Diablo is when you see a mob in Diablo you know each mob has something you need to avoid or a reason to kill it first. Very few mobs feel that way in MH, its just "destroy this group" and continue on. Once you have a character to level 30 and then 60, all of your characters get an experience boost so it helps that grind (it adds with each character to do that.)

Overall, there is a lot of money to be spent on this game and Gaz is adding a lot of content to help lessen the grind, have an endgame, and even a halfway decent(imo) pvp.

Tons of shit, they patch a few times a month, at least 1 major patch per month that adds new (or newish) content.

Iron Man is awesome and has more costumes than you can shake a stick at. He is one of the characters I didn't have a strong opinion about before the game that I really enjoy playing.
