Well, that makes a shitload more sense to me as to why Marvel agreed to it. They basically just have to produce a movie for free, and they get everything else they wanted. Perfect.
Maybe but what is stopping from taking MCU's Spidey and fucking it all up in their stand-alone movies? You know how anal Marvel is with their continuity in all their movies (Just ask the old Ant Man director) so do you think Sony will essentially ask Kevin for his thumbs up or whatever for each flick or just ride their coat tails?

They probably will just for their bank account. Make their movies as close as humanly possible to Marvel Comic Universe, so that the audience can't tell the difference. Most of the movie audience most likely has never read the trade rags about what hero is which companies property. This is a huge win for both Sony and Marvel alike. Sony gets the Marvel Comics audience, and Marvel continues to be able to tell cool stories.

Its brilliant for Marvel. They get to add arguably their biggest franchise character to their defining Crossover movies when they wouldnt have been able to.

Despite the garbage movies that keep getting made by SOny, Spiderman is a billion dollar franchise, and a brand that puts asses in seats.

I look at it like this:

before: Sony keeps making shitty Spiderman Movies and Marvel doesnt get to use their top star

Now: Sony will still make shitty spiderman movies but Marvel gets to oversee it to some extent, and they get their star.

And Sony gets the help it needs to make good spiderman films...maybe.

I agree with The Ancient, no idea how Hollywood execs did something that made sense like this.

Didn't think of this until I watched Charlie's Emergency Awesome video, but if what he says is true we could get Osborn in the MCU and potentially Agent Venom with Guardians. Could this also mean SpiderWoman is available? F4 and Xmen aside, Avengers 3 is going to be MASSIVE.
Do we know what studio holds the rights to Punisher? I know he's in the Civil War comic... Could introduce him in Agents of Shield for a cameo in Cap3.

Punisher, along with Ghost rider, Blade and a few others are back with Marvel a couple years ago.

At this point it's just the FF stable, and the X-men Stable they have no access to yet..

Spiderwoman shouldn't have ever been owned by Sony. She's not part of spiderman's stories.

One article I had read yesterday said that characters coming from MCU and into Sony's Spider-Man films were under consideration also. Could be more cohesive than some are expecting.

I always like the Wesley Snipes Blade movies. But a reboot could be cool. Snipes played the character well.

One of my favorite punisher moments is when he was approached to be captain America after cap died. Even after all the hate that cap gave him, punisher said he didn't deserve to pick up his shield. It was minor, but I loved it.

what is the deal with Namor being owned in part by nbc/Universal, did I miss a movie/tv show?
