Saw first three episodes tonight the first was just so so but I was drawn in by the dark tone it set. Episode two and three i really liked.

I started out thinking I was going to hate this series. But I feel they have created a solid world for daredevil to work in. A world that needs him to be daredevil.

They have also created a entertaining martial arts/street fighting intensive show where you just want to sit back and watch the five minute long brawls that happen that are much better when someone isn't bringing a gun into them.

You've gotten a bit incoherent here - what are you trying to say ?

The costume *does* have eye lenses on it, although that's presumably more because the armor guy assumed he needed them. Still, letting people know daredevil is blind reduces the suspect pool by 99.9%, so it would seem worth keeping a secret regardless no ? ;p
Exactly and I am not even sure why this is a debate. Other than this is Rerolled and it takes all kinds. Of course the costume has eye holes in it. The dude who made it would not know that DD was blind and wouldn't need them.

Also reviews of DD everywhere are pretty damn good. The show has flaws but it is still a very entertaining show for a lot of folks. Well worth the time to check it out. I liked it a lot better than Flash and as much as Arrow (actually I think Arrow is a little better). I think season 2 is set up pretty well for this one though. Origins can be a little tedious as we wait for everything to "catch up" but this one flowed pretty well. I look forward to next season and DD not getting his ass handed to him so often with his semi bullet/knife resistant suit.

The thing I'm most interested in now, after having seen and loved Daredevil, is how much integration these other Netflix shows are going to have with each other. I'm really hoping they heavily integrate the shows with lots of crossovers, guest spots, and cameos ala Arrow and the Flash. It doesn't even necessarily have to be the main super hero crossing over. I wouldn't mind seeing Foggy or Karen showing up now and then, just to hit home that we're operating in a single, shared universe.

yeah, I've been wondering were future seasons will go. I'm not through this one yet entirely. so this is not spoilers really.. just conjecture and some comic related notes.

DD in comics operates alot like Arrow show. Super powers do exist, but its so localized that 99.9% of the people do not have them. Kingpin does not technically have powers in raw metahuman terms, but at the same time, hes totally superhuman. the guy beats the shit out of spiderman, Red Skull, Cap, Daredevil, sinister six, etc all the time. Realistic power level is probably somewhere around Grodd, or Bane for DC comparison. taking out spiderman, who can fight Hulk is probably pushing it.
But superhumans do show up in hells kitchen. Bullseye, who kindof sortof has powers, like Wanted, or hawkeye.. so lowkey its not really questioned. But then theres also Typhoid Mary. who outright has pyromancy telekinesis. (shes a Mutant.)

And with Mary need to bring up a long standing plotpoint in DD...
Matt has a LONG line of super hot girlfiends, who all die. Any female friend Matt has ever had, dies.
I kindof wonder how that will play out here. they going to kill them all off? or in this day, Supernatural pulling that shit off is a bit passe... and keep a few alive.

I hope they do their own version of a DD season 2, but with ninjas. Easter eggs that give credit for the ideas from the books are more than welcome, but I want to see things reflective in the whole marvel universe while dealing within Hell's Kitchen.

There are oriental / martial / assassin cultures in the MU and that's been introduced with this and also AoS.

Hell's Kitchen has a lot of underground references they can play with too. The bar that Logan, Thing, Domino play poker in. Lots of stuff with Midnight Nurse. It would be really easy to pull some of those subplots from both operation zero tolerance and civil war and hash out new ideas using the high points from both.

A cold hard bitch Elektra that doesn't wear every feeling on her face would be awesome too.

The kids backwards. He should have wrote "so itwouldn'tseem worth keeping a secret regardless no ? ;p" Instead of "so itwouldseem worth keeping a secret regardless no ? ;p"

Not one section of the series does it say anything about Daredevil wanting people to think he was blind while he twirls around like a gymnast with perfect aiming..
No, the fact that he is blind is a secret that would be worth keeping. From your response it looks a bit like you imagined someone suggesting that he was pretending to be blind while he was in costume and started arguing with them. This was bizarre enough that I had to ask what you were talking about.

O come on, do you even read Daredevil... There's so much ninja shit going on not to mention Elektra in the comics you really have to ask where this is going? It's also very easy to put King Pin in any of those scenarios since they established he works with them in season 1.

They already introduced Stick and the Hands rival Organization in episode 7...

And this all ties into Power Man, and Iron Fist since they share a lot of the same cast.

IMHO they don't even need to cross over with what Marvel is doing in the movies if they go for mostly the Hand vs Chaste. Daredevil really isn't important for any of those storylines, he's a fairly weak hero on the power scale.

Only through episode three right now. The hallway fight scene at the end of episode two really sold me. This show is pretty damned awesome.

Just finished this with the wife. I really enjoyed it, don't get a lot of the vaginal sandstorm some people around here have about it. If it really did cost $100m for the season that might raise some concerns with me if I were Netflix. With that said, I'm looking forward to the other series, and hoping for a second season of this. And I don't know if I would say casting D'onofrio as Kingpin is RJD as Tony Stark level of brilliant, but it's close.

Didn't realize it til someone pointed it out to me this morning and don't know if it was mentioned here because I don't feel like going back to read the whole thread but Foggy is Fulton Reed. No wonder he sucks, dude was a one trick pony. All he had was his slapshot.

After this Daredevil series I am really fucking psyched for Ironfist. I thought the action is DD was incredible. Shit is going to be over the top in Ironfist.

I think the first run of each shows season will be completely separate from each other to better establish the characters.

Just once would I like a superhero show where the dialogue and general writing don't make me laugh incredulously every few minutes when I'm not being bored to death by irrelevant, predictable side characters. Comic books can get away with the way they are written because you can go through a chapter in a few minutes and it's easy to gloss over the BS but when you try to stretch out the same kind of writing for 50+ minutes an episode then there will be some problems. That's not to say that I don't enjoy some fist to face action but when there is nothing else of interest going on then unfortunately it's not enough for me.

Anyway I thought I'd add my 2 cents for anyone else who like me generally doesn't like what's done with the genre but has hopes of one day seeing something with an emphasis on story over:

I wonder with the seemingly success launch by marvel into Nextflix, will DC try and do the same , maybe using Apple streaming or Amazon. If it's making money Warner's tv division isn't shy about getting as many series out there as possible.

Daredevil Season Two

If you've already watched all 13 episodes of "Marvel's Daredevil" on Netflix and are eager for more, we've got some good news. Netflix has just announced that they've picked up the series for a second season that will premiere in 2016.

Doug Petrie ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "American Horror Story") and Marco Ramirez ("Sons of Anarchy"), who worked closely with Executive Producers Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard during the first season, will serve as showrunners for season two. Goddard, Petrie and Ramirez will serve as Executive Producers for season two alongside Jeph Loeb.

"While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch," says DeKnight. "They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."

So looks like we'll get season 2 around the same time as Luke Cage debuts.

The dialogue and acting in Daredevil are far beyond the shit you see in Arrow and The Flash (and I enjoy those shows immensely). The last episode was kind of cheesy, but acting chops were on full display in this series. I don't know what the fuck you people are complaining about.

The dialogue is atrocious. I think maybe they just made Foggy as terrible as possible to guise the fact that the rest of it is corny as hell too. Anything not involving Kingpin or Wesley is just bad. And even a lot of their dialogue is bad.

I think it fits the genre though. BTW, Foggy is and always will be a lame character. He's the Jimmy Olsen of the Marvel universe. Personally I think they nailed that one, both with the actor and the way he was portrayed.
