Maybe not the manliest soap, but most of the big brands marketed for men leave my skin red and dried out. Started using this stuff a couple years ago and no more dry skin. If I have grease or glue on my hands I just use a scouring pad and regular soap. Read a little about Pine Tar soap and I might give it a try.

I grew up on Dove - and I'm never going back. Ran out of soap once, ended up using Irish Spring, and though I'm not big on that soap, it showed me just how bad Dove is. Every shower was leaving me with a film of.... something. Now that's all in the past.

Going to try the Tea Tree bottle soap, and see how that works out.

Too much time on your hands.
2 minutes of dicking around writing a funny sample for a short movie while I wait for the next phone call to come in.

I call that a win.

It more touches on my annoyance od marketing stuff as special when the product is inherently that. The proverbial water bottle advertised as gluten and carb free.

You should take more umbrage at their use of "manly" a dozen times before the word "vegan" even shows up. Just pointing out how silly a lot of this stuff is. I use that Bronners hippie soap and like it. I like that salt stuff too and it does what soap does. It makes me clean and feel better after a shower. Apparently that means my social score is now lower than those that use pure Tar Soap With Chips of Metal Slag buried in it.

Use the bronners tea tree or almond? Im on peppermint and like it, working on next one to try beforei decide to keep to peppermint. Though i want to try pine bar given i love evergreens and live in mountains of them.

Peppermint all the way. That is my go to when I have done any physical labor and the super strong smell does wonders to perk me up.

For me, it's all about the fragrances. Vegan or not, the stuff just smells manly and lathers well. You feel clean and strong when you're done showering. His shave soaps are also some of the best I have, and I have a lot. A splash of some Bay Rum, Old Spice or Clubman Reserve aftershave and I'm ready.

Sludig : Manly Soap?
lurker : Here you go!
Sludig : This looks like Manly Soap
lurker : A'Yup
Sludig : It says Vegan, but looks manly.
lurker : Sure Does.
Sludig : ...
lurker : Well perhaps the company makes a good, manly smelling soap that works to remove all the manly dirt and sweat and leave you smelling like a well worm, handcrafted thick wooden desk, but it also happens to be made vegan. That would tell me that this company is marketing itself to both those that hit on the word "manly" and those that are also vegan. Why just pick one when you could market your product toward two different groups that typically do not share the same "ideals" in modern culture. Of course, you might ostracize a few customers who see "manly" and are offended because they are vegan, and you might also lose a few customers that see "vegan" and who are offended because they self-identify as "manly". That is probably a small enough market of people to not be concerned with when the majority of people will simply buy a working product based on one or the other of the two buzzwords we used.
Sludig : But Vegan and Manly are like...different...
lurker : It's fucking soap man.
Sounds like a hit. Could you flesh it out a little more and get me 20-25 pages? I'm already thinking Dwayne Johnson as the lead. Friend of a friend in production tells me that Ballers is coming to an end next season. Very hush hush. Depending on the script, we could get a pilot shot for the 19-20 cycle.

Bronners almond soap is good if you want a good lather. I'm backing Sceamfeeder and the bronners peppermint, if you've done anything sweaty on a hot day, it's the best feeling ever. Granted, I'm a hippie but it's been the only soap I've used for the last 5 years.

Ya, I fell in love with barber shop tea tree stuff from the crazy intense tingle/feel the first time, but it quickly seems to not have same effect.

I had wanted almond because I fucking love marzipan and any thing that is strongly sweet almond smell, but I kinda feared it would be too mild. As is I'd love the peppermint to be stronger.

The Charcoal soap is going strong still. Around 1/4" of the bar is still left, but it will probably last until the 9th, giving me a full month. I'm really enjoying the bar's texture (so I don't drop it), and also the volume of suds it creates. Next up is the bar of Epsom Salt. It says "Deep Cleanse" on the box, so it'll probably dry out my skin, but I'm still looking forward to it. Thanks again Kiroy Kiroy for the great suggestion on Grandpa Soap Co.

Wavertree & London English Rose scented soap
Nope. It's not manly to buy it, nor is it cheap.

But it is in my gym bag and it last longer than 4 bars of any other soap.
I can finish a workout, be covered in sweat, shower and head to work and get complimented on how nice I smell...

buttermilk has been around in soaps forever. *shrug* It's not like pouring milk on yourself soft-core porn style.. unless you want to?

Almost all traditional soaps are made from some sort of Fat. Milk, Olive Oil, Tallow. Let's not forget Fight Club where they were making it from human liposuction fat.

Ok, so I started the Epson Salt bar of Grandpa's today. My initial reaction wasn't great. It didn't seem to make any suds, but I guess there was just something on the outer layer. Within a minute, it wore off, and suddenly lots of suds. More than even the Charcoal bar. It might be in my head, but the "deep clean" printed on the box certainly feels true. I'm not dry, but it definitely made me feel very clean when all was said and done. My skin is naturally very oily, and it did a great job of eliminating all of it. I don't feel dry after the shower, and it worked well. The only down side is that the bar is slippery. I know that I'm going to end up dropping it soon.

I might give it an edge over charcoal, but I'm not 100% set on that. I really liked the charcoal.

I bought a bar of that pine tar one and have been enjoying it. Might give the others a try. Only problem is I shower 3-4 days a week at my office and don't wanna throw bar soap in my travel bag.

So update on the Epson Salt bar. It's definitely stronger than the other bars. Every night after the shower, my pits burn a little. Almost like a they've been rubbing together a while. It goes away quickly, but it's something the other bars never did. That's enough to have me put this on the bottom of the pile, even though everything else about it is good.
