I did den first on my first group, because it felt "side questy", and I like to complete all side quests before doing main quest. And yeah it's kinda easier but on my mage group I went lighthouse first cause I wanted to have the secret finding hireling with me while doing it(there's like 2-3secrets in there), wasn't a problem. Works both ways fine.the den of thieves?
huh. I found that odd. I thought you were SUPPOSED to do that first.
The lighthouse is the harder to beat of the two. I just did the lighthouse, like most, because its the first thing you see.
Ahh I never found the 2nd level so I will have to try that.....I am guessing that's the same issue for a lot of people then. The thread on steam forums was full of rage about getting stuck in similar circumstance.I did den first on my first group, because it felt "side questy", and I like to complete all side quests before doing main quest. Early game for the bosses that have vindictive buff(like both of these), unequip your offhand. You're missing most of the time anyway but misses add a strike to their attacks so it's not worth it. Especially if you have expert dagger, it's 2 misses per attack.Ahh I never found the 2nd level so I will have to try that.....I am guessing that's the same issue for a lot of people then. I did the den first because I made it to the lighthouse boss and he destroyed me so I wanted to get more levels/gear before trying him again. I am running with a Crusader sword/shield, Blademaster DW/Dagger, Druid spear/earth/ice and freemage dark/prim/earth.
Can't target shit out of melee range. I don't remember them healing stuff that wasn't on the same tile though. I also had Purge so I didn't care too much but rarely had to use it other than elite earth elems.Does anyone know how to switch targets more than one tile away? I'm up against a druid in this new area and it keeps healing mobs closer to me.
Got to the Lost City level 3, and shit got really hard. Switched up and went to the Desolate Sands (I think) and started knocking out some goblin groups. Decided to rush the Dreamweaver and take the damage from moving forward instead of letting it heal the party, and it worked. Can't target shit out of melee range. Totally starting 4 rune priests group tonight! LolThink it depends on the group, I'd say as soon as like 10-12 would probably be possible, but you'd need a fairly optimized group. I'm thinking 2 healers probably runepriests with shields+medium armor so you can keep healing while you're drinking pots, then 2 DPS that don't die easily, say, 2 runepriests with shields and medium armor. Just kidding, but I think 4 runepriests would be actually pretty good. Mostly you need an entire group of classes that can survive it's single target big hit, or make sure it never kills anyone(via spamming celestial shield or chain taunting it with a char that has a very high attack value for example). Realistically for most groups it'd be around 15 or so.
I came into this thread late but it's been non stop praise since I got here. I think I read that they did a huge patch right before release that fixed or balanced a lot of things. So what's the verdict on this? Reviews seem mixed but boy I sure loved the originals when I was a kid..
That's all I needed to hear, thanks. I practically worshipped the original series on my C-64, so if this is anything like it I'm going to have a serious nostalgia boner this evening. So many years without a party based RPG I had almost given up..If you ever liked any Might and Magic in the past, buy this. It's right up there with the best of the series
