Here is a Titus I did, the stripe on the helmet is my first ever attempt at free handing anything and I thought it came out okay

Just gotta practice brush control. It seems like you're either dragging the brush away from you or don't have a stabilized motion.

You want to have significant points of contact with the model and your brush hand should either rest on your model or your other hand. You want to pull the brush towards you whenever possible to get the most consistent edge. You should practice making straight lines on just a throwaway piece just until you get some consistency out of one motion with your brush. Eventually you can get enough muscle memory to do it at multiple angles but cradling the piece close to your chest with 3 points of contact on your brush hand and pulling it towards you is the easiest IMO.

You do really have to get a feel for pressure and texture and learn the brush enough for perfectly straight lines though.

Nice work. Looks better painted than my models but the end result not as good because you don't seem to have used washes.

You need to cover it in a thin layer of Nuln Oil - not too much.

Washes like that help to tie the different colour shades together, shadow recesses and hide brush strokes. Then you can rehighlight a few things like the white and gold.

You actually have the exact same basing I have, I guess you got the starter paint set?

Like me you did the Stirland Mud and Steel Legion Drab Drybrush, just dump a fuckton of Agrax Earthshade over it now. It's a bit glossy so makes it look wet in the recesses. Also paint the rim brown with the Steel Legion Drab, it looks great.

So I purposely didn't use washes as Im trying to get away from washes/edge highlighting to create contrast. Im trying to use volumetric highlights more and more to get away from 'Eavy Metal style horseshit. My transitions and blends aren't great as Im still learning

Fair enough!

I would still suggest a dark brown wash for the base and then using a very small brush to put a black wash into just the vents on the backpack/armour/weapons.

Totally worth getting the counterfeit Forgeworld bitz from Stalingrad, this is the most time and money I've ever put into a unit.

So I printed a 15mm Arachnotron toy from DOOM Eternal for my Figma DOOM Slayer figure to play with. It's the smallest thing I've printed/painted so far, so I guess it's at least a miniature this time (this thing is smaller than my fingernail seriously). 😅

(If anyone actually wants the demon toys from DOOM Eternal, there is some free STL files on Cults3D for all 30 of the in-game toys, printable at actual normal size for a large human's hand, I just wanted to test how smal I could make this thing to be in scale with my Slayer figure).

StarCraft mini game by Archon announced today, 32mm. Should hopefully have some decent looking models.

I'm not into table top wargaming, so this particular product isn't interesting to me, but I was a big fan of Starcraft back in the day, and I am excited that they mentioned they are going to develop some Starcraft-related board games in the future, so I will be looking out for those.

I know there has already been a Starcraft board game made, but it's been OOP for a long time, I personally have never seen or played it, although I have heard good things about it.

Will mess with basing later. But calling my Rotigus done for now.
I wish I had gotten into demons a long time ago.

It would be funny if they finally got hit for copyright infringement from Games Workshop.
