How big is that thing? The huge kit is finally all painted. I kinda burned out during the backpack and weapon part so that could probably have been painted a little better. But it looks awesome in real life so I'm happy!

The Mobile Suit is like 20cm tall. Then the backpack with thrusters makes the whole thing huge. How big is that thing?
You should do some burnt metal effects on those cones, it’s really easy to do and looks so sick.
You would want to use zbrush for sculpting organic things, not fusion360. I haven’t used it so can’t help you out much but it looks like you could copy paste that horn onto his sides and be good.Might be a better thread for this, but! I'm still casually searching for a Bertoxxulous mini and I came across this demon on thingiverse that has a good body structure. I'm thinking of just printing and kitbashing it, buuut I was thinking I might be able to edit the model. Anyone know a good and simple to use editor? I'm dicking with fusion 360 right now but it's beyond my skills, ha
Thanks! ended up DLing zbrush then finding out they have some bs paywall to export as stl files. I looked at what the guy used to make the original Barau and it was Meshmixer. seemed to work almost as well and they actually allowed me to export it in a variety of files. Gonna print this tonight and hope it works! You would want to use zbrush for sculpting organic things, not fusion360. There are plenty of really nice resin printers for good prices, especially for miniature painting. What's the price on a 3d printer that isn't shit quality? I'm thinking the tech can mature a few more years before I consider one but I see lots of fun combined with airbrushing.
Oh also buy a pair of these. They’re mini charcoal purifiers that run inside the machine. Gets rid of the chemical smell they put out. What's the price on a 3d printer that isn't shit quality? That looks like Dark Magic watching them print...There are plenty of really nice resin printers for good prices, especially for miniature painting.
I got my Mars Pro for under $200.

What do the runners do? I see lotsa pillars attached to the models.
Fuck alcohol. Buy water washable resin.Very good resin printer is around $250. Plus consumables like the resin and alcohol to clean them, let them cure in the sun or buy a UV light.

They are the same as supports with an FDM printer but in reverse. They also snap off way easier than FDM type supports. If you didn’t have supports any kind of overhang you printed would have no way to detach itself from the bottom of the vat where it cures, it would just stay on the bottom and your print would be a failure. The free software (Chitubox) adds all those for you once you put the file in.That looks like Dark Magic watching them print...
