Yea the pcitures make it worse but it is pretty much a yellow basecoat. Trying your technique now, tiny eyes and shaky hands though.

Looks way better imo. Doesn’t stick out like it did before, nice work.
The same technique came be applied to your candle flames, but instead of leaving the red and orange all around it you just leave it at the base of each flame.

wife used to paint figurines, was going thru a few of our cabinets, that i have not opened since we moved into the house 18+ years ago and i found her collection of unpainted figurines and her old paints.

Everyone knows the trope where the mom or one of the kids brings home a cat or a dog and the father is against it, only for the father and the pet to become best friends.
The pet ends up being the favorite family member because it's reliable, loyal, doesnt constantly ask for money, and you don't have to worry about where it's going at night and when it'll be back. It also doesnt talk back or spend your money on dumb stuff on Amazon.

That was my grandpa. Always grumpy, hated noisy kids, always would say “why would anyone want a damn cat/dog. Then they move out in the country and end up with some barn cats, and he loves the damn things. Would go out to his wood working shop and just hang out with his cat snowball all the time. Then they inherit a fat ass pug. Those two were inseparable, sit in the same chair together, eating rice crispy treats, both pass out at the same time and synchronized snoring. Fucking pug ended up wider than it was tall or long.

So started my real mini painting this weekend. The demon was quite large and easier to start on.
Base coat and wash done on 1 of 3 guys. Still learning how to thin the paint correctly and how much to load in the brush, managed to delete a few skull/seal details.
Highlighting to go on this one then work on the other 2.

I wonder if someone at GW used a buttplug as a handle then saw the potential to make bank selling them to nerds...

Kind of depends on what kind and how many you need. If you don't care about push-fit monopose models, you can get Assault Intercessors on Ebay dirt cheap since they appeared in the Indomitus box set as well as 40k Recruit Edition and the new Fire Team game at Barnes and Noble. A few of the other Indomitus models like the Outriders or Bladeguard might also be pretty cheap as well.

That death tyrant looks great. I just bought that model like 2 weeks ago too. Still got it boxed though.
