The Astros and Rangers were a combined 0-4 while getting outscored 30-15.

Thanks Governor!

I didn't even know dude said that. What an idiot. Doesn't he know anything about TX sports in recent years? Not counting the Spurs of course.

I'm just pumped that no matter which teams wins, it will be one that hasn't done it in a while or ever. I like the Dodgers because it would piss off all the Giants fans. But either of the AL teams are alright with me too.

Pretty cool thing that an Astros player did last night

(post from Facebook friend who was at the game last night)

Last night Javier Brackamonte #85, a Houston Astros bullpen catcher showed an unbelievable act of class and sportsmanship. After the game was over, he dug in his giant bag of gear and basically emptied it throwing stuff to all the kids. He threw them his hat, batting gloves, his chest protector, his chin guards, tootsie pops and every baseball he could find which was about 25 balls.. When he was done he threw his bag over his shoulder, clapped for all of us and wished us good luck the rest of the way. It was so cool to see someone showing kids how it's supposed to be done. I was sitting there just shocked. After getting heckled all night he showed us what he is all about.. What a great guy. I'll definitely be rooting for him from now on.

Weird way to lose, but Rangers have to see the season as a success.

Next year their top of rotation will be Darvish/Hamels. A lot of their young guys got a lot of playing time (Gallo, Odor, DeShields, Chi Chi) and they still have studs Mazara and Brinson knocking on the door. Most of their young talent on the major league roster is locked up for years to come, too.

Poor Elvis Andrus though.

Elvis and Mitch are really good defensive players though - either the fans just got to them or the long delays, I dunno. Elvis makes those plays 99% of the time.

Elvis just hasn't been the same the last couple of years. Back during the WS runs he was one of the best SS in the AL. Now... now I don't know. He's signed into the next decade and he's still young but he really needs to get back to the level he was at 2010-2012 to justify that contract.

He was garbage before the All-Star break before their hitting coach basically told him he's been terrible for like 2 years straight, then he turned it around after. Even at his lowest he wasn't making those kind of errors though.

Blue Jays, Royals, Cubs and Mets. No matter what it's going to be a very blue World Series.

The NL fucked it all up. If all of the homefield advantage teams would have won we would have had an exact copy of the 1985 playoffs. It was Toronto vs KC, and LA vs StL that year. I'm also hoping for a recreation of how that year played out, regardless.

I was really hopefully for a Cubs/Astros or a Mets/Astros World Series. I just can't get excited about the Royals and BlueJays after the possibility of the Astros making it after being so bad for so long. I hope this wasn't just a flash in the pan season for them.

Da fuq?

Astros were just in the world series 10 years ago.

Sure, most of those years in-between were bad news, but it's not like the Astros have been bad for decades and decades. (like the Royals, Cubs, and Jays)

But, to be fair, the Astros have no World Series wins(and only the 1 appearance) in their History. Most of their History has been pretty bad, but they were damn good there in the late 90s and early 2000s, that's not THAT long ago.

I don't know...maybe my idea of 10 years of sucking doesn't seem like a long time compared to being a Royals fan

By your own logic...you were just there last year so you have no ground to stand on. You literally beat your own argument with your own argument. Be a better homer.

And yes, with 1 appearence and no wins, I would rather have seen the Astros go. Plus a team with no WS wins and another team with no WS wins in a century...it would have been awesome. The ratings and story would have been awesome for the MLB.

I've watched him pitch probably 20 times this season, and Volquez's velocity, location, and movement tonight are the best I've ever seen from him. He came out to play for sure

I never thought that anyone in the AL East could be less likable than the Yankees and Redsox, but boy is Toronto trying their best. Bunch of whiny bitches
