I hope this rotating black hole of inefficiency to a random Astros position doesn't become a yearly thing. Last year it was left field. This year, first base has been a fucking joke. The combined batting average of Chris Carter and Luis Valbuena is less than Tyler White, who is hitting near .400 with an OPS well over 1.000 in close to 40 games at AAA. I realize he could be another Jon Singleton, who hit very well in the minors but couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat once he got to the majors. Either way, it's basically a dead spot in their line up, which they already have at catcher, so you'd think they'd want to minimize it all they can.
Still, first place is first place! It just sucks to know you're basically getting no production from first base every night (Marwin Gonzales is a nice player, but he's a super utility guy at best, not a full time player).
