Holy shit, I have maybe 6-8 of his rookie cards, mostly Chrome's. Haven't got them graded, I probably should do that.

I would hold off on grading them right now, because both BGS and PSA are currently only offering their top tier services. SGC, HGC, and others will take them, but the end result is a card that you will have less people interested in, lowering the value. There has been news that they are planning to resume accepting cards again at the basic levels/rates, but as of now its like $250 at BGS and $300 at PSA to get a single card graded. Sports cards exploded as the hypebeast and shoe resellers got into the hobby early on during the lockdown. This caused the graders to see levels of cards coming in that they did not expect. Until they get back under control, unless you have something well worth it to grade, just hang on until they get started again.
If you did have to choose, I think that SGC is the best option right now, fairly reasonable in price. In 10,20,30+ years, I think people will see an SGC graded card as reputable. So if your plans are extremely long term, they are not a terrible option. Just right now, you lose a huge value of the card, with PSA being the most sought after currently(Dumb IMO, am a BGS fan), the BGS being a close second.

I just ran through their prices, and return times. I knew it was bad, I didn't realize it was THIS bad. I really wonder if the hypebeasts are going to stay with it. These prices are absolutely fucking crazy. Curious if I should unload raw cards right now considering their prices.
Certainly not a power collector, but I got back into it about 3 years ago buying shit cheap projecting what prospects would do what etc... But now I haven't bought or sold in at least 6 months - 1 year. I think I have about 10 Acuna Chrome packed up as well that I think would grade really well.

There definitely is a market for ungraded cards, but with the Acuna and Ohtani cards specifically, I think grading is the way to go. I think Acuna is going to have a strong super-star level career, and hope the same for Ohtani. This makes their flagship rookies hold their value well. I am only selling some of my ungraded Ohtani stuff because I have so much.

Oof Ohtani start was hard to watch. Ump missing calls didn't help at all, but Ohtani just didn't seem as sharp as he has been in his last few pitching starts.

Friend of mine is a Yankee fan and he went to the game last night specifically to watch Ohtani. Not only did Ohtani last no time, but he saw his Yankees lose with a wild 9th. I bet the fans were getting real shitty in the stands. I've been there watching a Yankee collapse before and the fans start to fight each other and shit.

It was really similar to last night too in that there was a massive rain delay in the middle of it and the Blue Jays stormed back after the delay. They were down 0-6 and ended up winning 12-6. It was hilarious watching the Yankee fans get more aggressive with each other as the collapse got worse and worse.
