I thought the same thing. Maybe the hair?
The hair and usually he wears the short short tights and shows off those bigass thighs instead of the..."board shorts"? Guessing that's all it was.

I went 9/12 and hit 4 boosts, but shit the bed on picking rounds/finishes=P

You guys see Krauss' eyes when he took that first punch from Lim? Holy fuck, he's looking about 20 feet to Lim's left and up towards the top of the arena. Wish I could find a good gif of that upper angle.

Anyways,GIFS!

Also, there were 3 stops that were sort of fast(Mir, Guida, and Vera), but none of them were truly bad.

Speaking of bad refs!!

Making my picks and just noticed Marcos Vinicius vs. Ali Bagautinov is listed as a 5 rounder. Is that an error or something?

Anyways, Brazil card so pick accordingly.

I actually meant to come back and ask that same question. I have no idea why it is listed like that, and I don't see it mentioned anywhere as being a 5 rounder. I am guessing it is just a mistake on the Sherdog site.

On that note, make sure to double check your picks after you save them. I went back to mine today and a couple were definitely swapped.

Dana announced that TJ Grant will be getting the shot against Pettis. This is great news, so GD sick of every new LW champ being required to rematch.

Will Teixeira get a title shot after this fight? Other than him, I can't really see anyone who can put up a fight against Jones.

Official UFC rankings have him #2, and JJ is about to fight the #1 guy, Gustafsson. So it makes sense, not that beating Bader should really earn someone a title shot. It *should* be Texiera vs. Davis for the next title shot if he beats Bader, but that would set them 1 "legit" challenger back. I'd guess Texiera gets the shot and then Davis gets it after either some holding pattern fight(ala Bader) or after some mysterious and convenient injury keeps him on the shelf just long enough to avoid potentially losing a set up bout.

As bad as the Machida decision was it still goes down as a W. That plus being the only guy to beat Gustafsson is probably enough to justify the shot. Not that you have to justify shots, Chael is proof.

Glad it is not a rematch, but does anyone, except for the hardcore's, know who TJ Grant is? The UFC has a marketing problem on their hands if he sneaks in a victory... especially if it is a boring decision.

That really shouldn't matter. You can't always wait for the guy who is popular enough with every fan to justify putting him up for a title fight.

Yeah, gotta take the most deserving when you can. How many more Diaz/GSP and Chael/Jones fights do we need?

Edit: Dana addressed the Benson/Pettis thing in his post-fight scrum, too. The first match counts as far as the UFC is concerned, so they have it at Pettis 2 - 0 over Benson, with the most recent victory being a fast/dominant one. Benson is going to have to work his way back up, or Pettis will have to lose before Benson gets another shot. Pettis/Aldo is far more likely than Pettis/Henderson at this point.

I admit, when they said in the lead up to his fight with Maynard that he'd get a title shot with a win I was fucking stunned. He's won 5 straight, but that Maynard fight is the only real big credential on the list. 155 is always a loaded weightclass, but it feels kind of diluted right now. Which is silly, it's just that there's not been one dominant guy. Sounds counter-intuitive, but when you have a true BIG DOG it makes the question of who gets the next shot seem more important. So all those guys fighting in the #1-5 slots have the shine of maybe being the guy to beat the guy. Bendo and his decisions(often questionable) just didn't make the belt seem that important. Hopefully Pettis brings back the shine that the belt hasn't really had since BJ.

edit: Aldo has said he wants to fight Pettis as long as he doesn't have to abdicate his FW belt.

So they would meet at LW? Either way I am 100% for it. I think that would be a great fight. Aldo could be the first champ to hold 2 belts simultaneously.

That a jab at Petis, lol? He would hold 2 belts if he won also... Aldo is fierce, but the Petis size advantage is significant. Petis is 3 inches taller and looks like a welter weight, whereas Aldo looks closer to a bantam than he does light weight.

It is the "super fight" I would rather see than any of the Silva vs GSP vs Jones bullshit.

Pretty sure the proposed fight would be a LW title fight, not a both weight title fight.

Not sure Pettis would be THAT much bigger either. Aldo is a big FW, no idea how you think he looks closer to Bantam, without having to cut so much weight he probably won't gas after 2-3 rounds either. And 3 inch height advantage? I know reported heights for HW's are totally imaginary, but Aldo is 5'7" and Pettis is 5'6". Pettis was totally comfortable with moving down to 145 also, it's not like he's Gleison Tibau. He's not a huge LW.

Photo Shopped?
Actually yeah, I think so.

Can see here even with Aldo's hunched stance it's not vaguely similar.

Aldo+vs+Pettis.jpg

Plus the lighting is weird and the stances too. Plus plus they never weighed in against each other, why would Aldo be standing there in his undies?
