Oh shit, 2nd consecutive event in 1st place! Would have been even better had my Jacare pick been correct. Oh well, my own fault for not seeing it when I noticed the other one.
Gotta agree with Grimm, Glover looked slow as shit. However, when he was backed in that corner, his counter was perfect and on point. Not a bad card overall.

My picks got fucked up too. Originally picked Souza by KO in round 2 and Benavidez by submission in 2 but they got flipped somehow. Oh well. It looked like Glover got caught a couple of times by Bader on the feet. So it makes me wonder how he'll do against someone who likes to push the pace like Jones or Gustafsson. I am not convinced he should have been given the next title shot. I'd like to see how Sept. 21 plays out and see if someone is injured or not after the title fight. I think DC fights in October and I'd love to see him and Glover fight for the #1 contender spot...if there's a case that he's not ready for that kind of opportunity then make it Phil Davis and Glover. I'm just not completely sold on Glover being the full package. I don't think he'd do well if he were pushed into the championship rounds.
I watched the TUF premiere and it seemed to have a little more energy this time around for me. I was probably just bored though.

Haven't watched yet, it interferes with some DVR stuff. Won't record til Sunday. BTW, why the fuck are they only showing it twice per week, and both at prime viewing times? Wednesday at 10 and Sunday at 9. WHAT THE FUCK? FS1 doesn't have so much high quality shit that they couldn't replay it during the day or some shit through the week.
ANYWAYS! Last season was maybe the best season to date. Almost no drama, tons of amazing fights from well prepared fighters, huge finishes. I am almost totally uninterested in this season. It looks tailor made to get back to the bullshit Big Brother house drama cuntass reality tripe that has ruined half the seasons.
Still say Glover should fight Phil Davis, but still confident my previous LHW schedule will play out. Only now I am shockingly confident he will get absolutely fucking embarrassed by JJ. He couldn't get in to use his striking on Ryan Bader, he only won by landing a great counter combo when Bader closed and stood in the pocket. JJ will not do that, he uses that ridiculous Dhalsim body to control distance.

You know one of the main reasons I stopped watching TUF was because of the drama in the house. I absolutely despise reality shows for exactly that reason. It is stupid drama that I just don't care to watch. I did hear that the last season was quite good since it got away from that, but I never had the chance to catch up on it. Since they have both men and women living in the house, I do fear there is going to be a ton of the show focused on the drama. I will give it a chance to see how it goes though.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the women's fights were though. For the most part they went in there and showed some good stuff. But like I said before, holy fuck do they cry a lot. Luckily a few of the ones that cried before, and after, their fight lost and won't be in the house. Will see how emotional they get once inside. One of the girls in particular is very clearly a socially awkward person. I think she is going to get picked on quite a bit.
I don't give Glover any chance in hell against JJ. I do think it would make sense for him to fight Phil Davis for the #1 contender, but I don't think Phil Davis has any more of a shot against JJ either, so I am not sure it matters. But yeah, Glover will never get close enough to JJ to land those shots. And Bader made him look slow as shit, JJ will make him look like a slug. This of course all assumes that JJ beats Gustafsson

Jones has been up against good punchers though, Lyoto landed probably the best shot anyone ever has on Jones and he just walked it off. Glover has gotten tagged in 2 fights now (Maldonado/Bader), and although he does recover well, he has shown his chin to be reachable.
Although, that is neither here nor there against JBJ. Jones isn't a power puncher, his TKOs come from devastating GNP, and Texeira has shown nothing to say that he can stop the takedowns. Same goes for Phil as much as I love him, if Rashad can take you down, Jones is going to smash your orbital bone. Outside of a freak from-the-guard submission like Vitor's armbar (which Jones does leave himself terribly exposed for), I really don't see anyone beating him. Jones fought Fit-Rampage, Lyoto, Shogun and Vitor and none of them were able to do anything at all on the feet. Lyoto Lyoto'd him for one round and landed one great counter, and that was it. You would need a LHW Johnny Hendricks with serious 1-punch KO power for me to ever believe anyone has a remote shot against Jones on the feet (Rampage 1 punched the ghosts of Wanderlei/Chuck, he doesn't count). Clearly we need to get Vinny back for a title shot to throw up some high level armbars/triangles! (trolololol)

I suppose anything is possible, but I just don't see this. Overeem will push him against the cage and punch him until he collapses. It's the blueprint to beat Mir.
