DW knows how important this is to prop up the HW division and regain lost legitimacy after the Ngannou re-signing fell through.

I could see them doing 30m due the current state the HW is in. It's true regardless of whether Jones fights or not, UFC has no HW's. They haven't built the division out like other orgs have done the last few years. So there's a case to make that regardless of whether Jones fights or not, HW is finished for another 5 years until they can rebuild it. With or without Jones. We can see that. But to regain some legitimacy right away and put a bandaid on the situation, Jones needs to fight this guy for a fake belt. 30m to right a few wrongs that led up to this is the cost of doing bad business.

6 months prep time is giving people McGregor vibes. He's just too old to get 6 months.

If I'm UFC I say the 30m is for this summer, take it or leave it. 30m and no 6 months should be the compromise.

conner dragged chandler around for 2 years, laughing at him all the way to the whitehouse isn't the same as old man jon applying ben gay to his legs to get over fight camp

Thing is Jones has said he's good to walk away repeatedly throughout this. He joked that life-changing money might motivate him, but ultimately told the press he has 0 interest in Aspinall at all. He said he's comfortable financially and legacy wise to just retire.

The 30m isn't guaranteed compliance-- even if they give him 6 months prep. Jones can easily drag 2 years out of this.

He sat for 4 years before. 2 years is nothing to him. You're also talking about a guy with multiple surgeries. 6 months and a "camp" is just more time to get hurt.

Pretty sure UFC is fully aware if he gets the 6 months he will tear something again.

I'm ok with the 5 years for Cain... if they give the pedo-rapist the death penalty. Balance the scales.

dude probably isn't going to get anything. last i read at most he was facing 8 years max/$10k fine. think his case has been delayed for the last year with no dates set.
cain's family is suing the guy's family, iirc, his mom ran a daycare out of house or attached to the house, and the guy lived there too.

And Cain was facing 30 to life.

Judge did him a solid going way under the recommended.

If anything Cain should get more jail time for failing to even put a scratch on the dude.

Joe Rogan said it'd be through UAE/Saudis if it does happen. UFC is open to the Ngannou fight, but they won't directly co-promote it with PFL. It'd be organized by the sheikhs.

PFL would need to let Ngannou do the Saudi event and make him available. Maybe UFC would slap PFL's name on the banner if they're lucky.

Pretty sure it'll never happen since PFL would be stupid to not demand a partnership for the fight. Anything besides a direct co-promotion with PFL would be a non-starter for them.
