Gilbert Melendez Agrees to Multi-Fight Deal with Bellator MMA; Will UFC Match the Offer? | MMAWeekly.com

Looks like White may have let his personal feelings about GSP get the best of him, and is quite possibly going to lose a great LW fighter.
Negotiations devolved to the point where company president Dana White told UFC Tonight earlier this week, "I'm done. It's not going well at this point. I like Gilbert Melendez very much, but I don't like his management."

Melendez is managed by Rodolphe Beaulieu, who also represents former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

This is the type of shit (on a MUCH larger scale, of course) that ruined boxing for decades. I'm just hoping that Gilbert isn't the tip of the iceberg.

I was a huge fan of his the moment he got to the UFC until his first match against Shogun, when I realized he lacked the ability to adapt if his standard gameplan wasn't working. I especially hate seeing him lose close decisions to fighters that I think he is just plain better than, like Rampage and Phil Davis (not saying anything bad about Phil, I think he's great). He has gotten a bit more aggressive, but I just don't think it's enough at LHW. I really think he will walk all over the MW division though, he looks a lot leaner and meaner fighting at 185.

For the amount of hate he gets for borring people he has one of the best highlight reels out there. Hope hes able to be unstopable at 185. Mw division has so much more depth these days. Not too long ago there was nothing there

I agree 100% with everything here. Especially with how hard it is to watch him lose to fighters he's better than because he doesn't engage.

its that 10 o clock shadow

*edit*

So Yamazaki immediately takes a point for a nut shot during the prelims, despite it being a good kick that the other guy just turned into. But he doesn't penalize mousasi for an illegal upkick.

What a fucking retard.
