I remember Badr Hari absolutely destroying people, with such viciousness, that it reminded me of 19 year old Mike Tyson. Haven't heard his name or seen him in years though.

Bigfoot Silva is probably the only name MMA fighter with a legitimate excuse to use TRT. He has acromegaly, a form of gigantism. In his case it's brought on by a cyst on his pituitary gland forcing it to produce excess growth hormone(hence the Easter Island head and giant feet/hands). This totally fucks up how his body produces hormones and in his case makes his testosterone production so low that he supposedly actually lactated at one point. Bigfoot titmilk. Think about that.

So they're finally going to have surgery to remove the cyst, which involves going through his face to get at it. Something he'd not have to do if he could do a proper TRT regimen. But he can't. Because guys like Chael Sonnen use TRT as a loophole to juice.

It sucks for him, but it's such a freak occurrence that it's not like they could rule around him.

I was just talking the other day about how there's no young hyped up HW's in the pipeline. I'm now reminded of when Bigfoot was still just a prospect with the Nogueiras. He went by the nickname "Junior" and he was getting talked about like a mythical animal. I couldn't wait for him to really hit the scene.

And when he finally did with Elite XC it was awesome. He was 265lbs but still somehow explosive. Jumping knees and shit that didn't look awkward, from a 265lb dude! But after a couple fights he kind of slowed down, turns more and more plodding until he got to what he is today. Big hitting grinder with a vicious top game. But the flashy stuff and sneaky athleticism is gone. I wonder how much of that is because of his condition and how much is just age(he's 34 now).

Yeah Gigantism has a cumulative effect unfortunately. It must actually be getting harder and harder for him to make weight at this point since his body is basically expanding constantly.

I don't even want to imagine the huge strain this is on your internal organs and body overall, fuck that.

He actually had surgery a few years ago to remove a tumor that was causing the extra growth hormone so I think he's good on that front at least. As soon as he came to the US to fight they found the tumor and he had to get it removed. And that's why he actually needs the TRT since then. He used to fight at 300lbs as a super heavyweight.

Some sites are calling this next surgery a tumor and some a cyst. I dunno.

Stockton UFC fighter Nick Diaz arrested in Lodi - Lodinews.com: News

"UFC fighter and former Tokay High School student Nick Diaz was arrested in Lodi at 2:20 a.m. Sept. 6 on suspicion of DUI, obstructing a police officer, destruction of evidence and driving with a suspended license, according to Sgt. Mike Kermgard of the Lodi Police Department.

Diaz was arrested by Cpl. Eric Bradley while driving down the 600 block of East Pine Street, Kermgard said. The arraignment for Diaz should be 21 days after his arrest.

Sgt. Steve Maynard said that Diaz was very polite during his arrest and the only problems officers encountered is when he forced himself to vomit into a jail cell toilet at the Lodi City Jail, even after officers ordered him not to.

Diaz was released the next morning according to Maynard.

The UFC issued the following statement about the arrest:

"We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering the facts. We understand that there is a legal process that will now take place and that Nick Diaz will have the opportunity to address the situation in the near future."

Diaz is scheduled to fight Anderson Silva, former UFC middleweight champion, on Jan. 31, 2015."

Oh hey Liam McGeary fought in Bellator. That guy is fun to watch, he could be legit. He's another one of this tall and long LHW's built similar to JBJ and Gus. He gets the next title shot in theory(haven't watched the title fight yet, watching on the DVR now). Pretty eager to see him against real competition.

McGeary had a nice inverted arm triangle sub last night. Also Emmanuel Newton landed a nice spinning back fist to knock Joey Beltran out cold.

Not arm triangle, just inverted triangle. After almost tapping the guy out with an Americana from the bottom twice. It was pretty rad. Love when the guy on bottom is attacking with so many submission attempts that the guy on top is just playing defense the whole time.

Man I feel like I have been slacking on keeping up with the smaller shows and upcoming talent. My focus has been 100% on football I suppose. Will check out the Bellator card

I pretty much 1/8th watch everything that airs on DirecTV. The AXStv stuff like RFA is on but I'm mostly staring at my computer and looking up every once in a while or whenever the announcers sound excited. Bellator gets slightly more attention if I know who is fighting and they're exciting. Even UFC fights I rarely amjustwatching the undercard fights.

I was thinking about it the other day, I come off like I watch every event in depth when it's nothing like that. I just make liberal use of the DVR=P

Hah, I have found myself watching the UFC events in exactly the same way recently. Fights on the TV, me staring at my screen, Joe Rogan gets all excited and I glance up.

I remember when I used to order every PPV, invite people over, and actually stare at the TV the entire time.

I think that was a pretty big shock to nearly everyone. He got two clean shots off on him that put him down.

Gotta say thats a pretty big surprise.
Well, Arlovski has always hit really fucking hard and Bigfoot has suspect chin. His time at Jackson's seems to have really worked for him, his footwork and movement were fantastic, Bigfoot was just obviously the slower fighter and Arlovski finally landed a good shot right on the chin.
