I thought the 10 year old kid jumping in front of McGergor to hold him back was pretty good.

The rankings for UFC and who fights for the title are worse than the old college BCS bullshit. How do you get a title fight over 3 others ranked higher than you when you beat the # 10 guy?

Well I brought it up earlier in the thread, but it's because Aldo has already fought and beaten everyone else.

Giving zero fucks because it was set up beforehand if he won, and they gave him a pretty bad mismatch in Siver. Siver is a solid gatekeeper for the division but I don't ever see him challenging for the belt. Feeding Siver to McGregor is kind of a dick move, but he had to fight at least one more top ten fighter before they give him the Aldo fight, and he might lose if they don't set him up with a mismatch.

The post fight presser is worth a watch. It's more B+ Conor than his normal A+ stuff, but still worth watching if you have 20 minutes to kill.

Siver got shit on pretty hard through all of this. I don't like that they gave Conor a can to crush and Conor decides to take his dignity as well. Calling out his steroid use to pretty much his face after he just beat the shit out of him is a low blow imo.

Don't you think it would have sounded worse if he called him out for steroids after losing the fight? And assuming that Siver actually was using steroids, why would you feel bad for him for losing?

I guess it depends. If it was straight up steroids, then fuck his dignity, but I also thought Siver's case was some oddball ticky-tack supplement stuff. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle but I still have a hard time seeing it as low blow per se.

Also, nice event in Stockholm this weekend. It's top-heavy because the card is of course stacked with Europeans etc, but still nice card. Gus/Rumble is awesome, obviously. Phil Davis will let us see if his striking is improving against Ryan Bader. And Hendo vs. Mousasi!

At the rate things are going with an injury to the winner of Rumble/Gustaffson, Phil could get a title shot after he beats Bader (Bader is not Top 5 material). Honestly its one of the better matchups for Bader as there is zero chance Davis will check his chin, but Phil Davis only loses to Top 5 at LHW, and Bader sure isn't in that category.

I dunno, I think Bader will give Davis a test at least. Bader has decent wrestling and if he can manage to keep it standing, his boxing is probably better than Davis, so he could get a chance to test his chin. Of course if Davis throws out a punch and glances Bader on the chin, he can put him out!
