Diaz didn't play his gameplan he tried to counter Anderson's gameplan. Unfortunately didn't do enough work to win any round though.

Saying Diaz didn't win any round is just as big an exaggeration as him saying he won every round. The fight was close in my books, with Silva edging it out very slightly.

Fight was close every round, with Anderson winning every round.

Was it just me or did Silva sound like he is not going fight anymore after this? I'm sure a lot is being lost in translation and his English is still poor. However the vibe in his post fight, was one of a fighter that has fought he last fight.

Funny, according to Dana (yeah I know, take it with a grain of salt) at the post fight press conference, they offered Vitor a fight with Machida after Weidman pulled out with injury, and he wanted nothing to do with it.

Edit: And for anyone that cares. Dana just said that Lineker is now a 135lb fighter and Gastelum is a 185lb fighter. Sounds like he doesn't want to deal with these weight issues anymore

Diaz didn't win any round. How is stating a fact an exaggeration? He postured a bunch and landed a bunch of light punches and about 10 real hard ones while whiffing horribly on the majority of them. Even if it was a close fight, which it wasn't, that doesn't make saying Nick lost every round anywhere close to an exaggeration on par with him saying he won every one. Or at all, a fight can be close and still have one guy win every round.

It wasn't agoodfight, but Diaz did nothing. He lands lighter punches, if he can't add volume to that he's a joke. And he didn't have volume. Of course his normal gameplan had zero chance of working. He couldn't hope to crowd a bigger stronger fighter with Silva's striking and movement and force him to the cage, which is what he usually does before he unloads a million punches.

Diaz threw 226 total punches in 5 rounds. Against BJ Penn, a smaller fighter, he attempted 190 strikesin the second round. 436 in three rounds. Nicks gameplan tonight was the best he could do against Silva, but it went completely away from what Nick does well. It was a bad match up for him the second it was signed.

The biggest thing in the whole fight to me was Silva throwing hard low kicks with the left as the fight went on. Was watching for that the whole fight.

Lauzon lost, that sucked. Iwithwish he had better takedowns.

My newer Laptop has an HDMI out. That plus acestream is really nice.

Just got a neg for my big post about the event, don't care about the neg point but can someone explain the comment?

"the same one as you."

I tried to find part of my post that made that fit and I got nothing. All I could think of was it must be tied to a neg given to someone else, but nothing I could find there. I'm so confused...and aroused.

I don't think it's too much of an overreaction. He needs to change something up to get the juices flowing. From things I've read he has issues and hates weight cutting. He won't have a chance for the title anytime soon, so why not try something new?
Coach: Ben Henderson moving to welterweight to avoid weight cut - MMAmania.com
Seems it's been the plan since Sept 2014.
That's according to Henderson's coach, John Crouch, who told UFC Tonight the current weight cut is "irritating" for the ex-champ. And now that Bendo has been eliminated from the 155-pound title chase -- thanks to a (somewhat) controversial knockout loss to Rafael dos Anjos last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma -- there is no point in sticking around

Sounds dumb. Nobody likes cutting weight but he's looked very natural at 155. I'm betting he'll be an undersized welterweight and he'll never come within spitting distance of a title shot. He's still the #5 lightweight, so if he strung the right 2-3 wins together he'd be right back looking at a title shot.

Thinking about the fight the other night it was like Nick Diaz was the perfect return fight. Anderson go to test his leg out and everything else and Nick wasn't much of a challenge at all.

I still don't know why Diaz is fighting at middleweight when he is clearly a welterweight. Was it just so he could fight Anderson?

As to the fight, NOBODY thought Diaz was going to win, the fact that he made it five rounds and was competitive every round is basically shocking. GSP had beat him pretty clearly last time he fought in the UFC, basically just with to quote Grim, "Wrestlefucking".

at least nick gave Anderson the respect he deserved after the fight, I don't mind the mid fight antics but at the end shake the dudes hand and call it a day, glad he isn't a complete cunt.
