Not really fair to Aldo to do an interim title when he fought 9 months ago.

But then I look at his fights and realize he averages less than two fights a year, so fuck Aldo. It's just weird to see a fast tracked nobody fighting someone who isn't Aldo for an interim title.

Yeah, the Interim thing is BS to me. I just don't see much of a point to them, because nobody considers them the champ until they hold the real title. If you really feel the fight needs to be for a title, strip the champ of his belt and make it a real title fight.

This fight just doesn't make sense for that, but whatever

That said, Mendes is a bad matchup for McGregor. You know Mendes will fall back on his wrestling and will be happy to grind out a boring win. Hopefully Conor's takedown defence is up to snuff; we haven't really seen it yet

I think because of Mendes ground game, he will give Connor more trouble. He will for sure test Connor's TD defense.

I wonder if McGregor holds back on his flashy kicks. He sometimes stands with his lead leg way out in front. Probably not a good idea for this one

Nobody jokes aside, would be funny if Mendes won, which would set him up for a third match against Aldo.

Even though I don't believe Mendes would win another fight with Aldo, his last fight was one of the best Aldo fights in years. At the very least it will be quality entertainment. Oh, uhhh Mcgregor? Yeah fuck that guy, enjoy your fast tracked title loss.
