Dana - "Benson was washed up anyway, that is why he had to go to Bellator so he could feel relevant again. We got the best years of Henderson, so no big loss for us"

I expect him to say something along those lines if he gets questioned about it.

I wasn't too far off!

"He's a former world champion who's ranked No. 15 now. We're looking for top-5 guys, guys that are going from 15 to 1, not the other way around."

It's funny that he would bust out the rank 15 comment. He lost to the guy who would go on to win the belt, lost a questionable decision to Cerrone, then they gave him two nobodies and he beat them both. I'd get the hell out of the UFC too if I were Benson.

But not at all surprising. It's DFW man, he just shits on people that don't do exactly as he wants.

Ben seems like a cool/weird guy and the HW division has always been a wet dog fart. I for one support the notion that he should be next in line

Northcutt is going to start training full-time now at Tristar following his last loss. Should be a good move for him.
Exactly what needed to happen. I don't care how great your dad is as a trainer, even the likes of Roy Jones had to move on from that. Only good things will come.

What boring fights so far tonight.

Hope Wonderboy flying kicks JH jaw off. I like JH but need something to talk about at work tomorrow.

Also Big Country is turning into a bitch

Welcome to the Wonderboy era? lol

In all seriousness, that guy has some nasty striking skills. His speed at ripping off those combinations was pretty impressive.

Called that one. We are starting to see more accomplished strickers getting into MMA and doing well. Holly Holm, Wonderboy, Conor.

That's your next champ right there. If he continues to work on his wrestling and ground game, it will be tough to see anyone taking him out in the next couple of years.

Missed the fight originally, what was that a Holm-Rousey replay? Wish Johnny would've put up a better fight, he has always been cool to people here in the DFW area. With that range, superior striking ability, and higher athleticism that is just not even fair. Wish I could say all this is surprising, but just like every other sport MMA is starting to get a tier of better athletes all-around, and it's showing over the last couple of years with some of these dominate performances. I'm smart enough to never count Lawler out, but if Thompson fights with a solidified gameplan at range, lets be real. Another thing that I notice is, some of these newer guys just fight with dramatically better game plans, generally with high level striking backgrounds (boxing/kickboxing). Which could just be a product of obvious emphasis on your past experience/strengths.

I really didn't know shit about Thompson, that shit was pretty to watch.

Man Thompson is one of my favorite fighters to watch. I almost put money on a first round KO but decided against it. If Conor looks good at 155, he better not get too cocky and try to jump up to 170. I could see him giving Robbie a handful, but not Thompson. Thompson is the future of 170 and Conor doesn't have the standup skills to fuck with him.
