All professional sports have advertisements somewhere within the camera view. The UFC really only has one option to put them in the octagon because they can't put up semi permanent advertisements up in every single venue. It's not like a stadium where you can throw up a giant billboard that is seen in every single replay.

Yea, I mean pro sports are going to have their own sponsors for their events. That Reebok deal is still strange to me. I can see why they still advertise video games, energy drinks, and other odd shit I guess. They still aren't on that next level to get huge sponsors and it'll be a long time until they get the kind of money that the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL average every year. It seems like every once in a while they will get a Coors Light or Bud Light in there, but it's much more rare nowadays to see that than it was several years ago. When they start getting that Coca-Cola money, they'll have a real say so as far as their place in professional sports in the States. As for that Reebok deal...I'd be surprised if they did that again once that deal runs out. I know it's bringing money to the company, but unless it's restructured, the fighter dissent just doesn't seem worth it to me. Then again, I wouldn't be the person to ask about any of that stuff when it comes to the amount of money they are making off of that in the first place.

New ownership might change some things as various contracts run out. UFC is still the absolute biggest stage in the MMA world though, so even if they re-up with Reebok it's not like the majority of fighters would jump ship. I have no idea how much money UFC was/is making from the deal, but as long as it remains profitable and they can't get a better deal that strictly gives the owners more money, I can't see them going with anything else really. I'm not sure Alphabetsoupcompany is all that caring about fighter needs/desires, as long as the overall company makes money and the competition is 2nd tier at absolute best, and usually much lower.

I watched that on Bloody Elbow or something and I thought it looked so staged.

Also,UFC on Fox: Maia vs. Condit Aug 27, 2016 Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Tickets are like 50 bucks and it's a block away yet i can drum up the energy to care about this card.
Let's go mah Wakandan

I hope that CM Punk doesn't end up being a dud after all the training, and ESPECIALLY after all the promotion the UFC has been doing for him.

I just don't get how he is going to come in and excel. He isn't like Brock Lesnar where he was already an NCAA champion and absolute freak of nature physically. He doesn't have a martial arts background. So I just don't see how he is going to come in and somehow be really successful.

Here's not. He's going to get tooled by some journeyman and that will be that. If he were a phenom he'd be fighting already. The UFC is just waiting for him to practice enough so that he can lose his "one and done" fight against someone with enough name recognition to generate some PPV sales.

I'm here. I've just been using the forum less and less even before the shitstorm. Can't find it in me to give many more fucks.
I gave this post a +49er because I don't like that Grimmlokk Grimmlokk seems to be too cool to hang out with us anymore. And really, what is more insulting than someone giving you a +49er?

I can't even see the work of the Cutler'ing that was dished out yesterday. Oh well.

Browne steps in for Big Ben, rematches Werdum. I like it.
