Yeah, I don't know if it was that bad initially, but in the 3rd I think he tagged the cut a couple of times where it popped back open and I'd bet it split further.

I think Conor is crazy with this quick turnaround, but maybe he knows this is his only shot at holding both belts consecutively. He was supposed to get the shot at it at 196, so not completely a surprise, but it will be almost assuredly over a full year between him winning the FW belt and his first title defense (if any). Frankly even if he beats Alvarez if he hasn't defended the FW belt even once, it won't mean as much to say he held both titles.

This is dumb, because it means so little to say you've held both titles at the same time when you've defended neither even once. Even one title defense at 145 would have given this much more meaning.
