Pony'd up for the PPV for the first time in like..8(?) years. Wasn't disappointed to be honest. The main draw for me was Rose, but felt like I got my money's worth by the time the Zabit vs Bochniak fight was over...what a wild fucking ride. I expected the Khabib fight to be done in two rounds tops and must say was shocked to see it go the distance...I came out of that a huge fan of Iaquinta.

Laquinta was a rank 13 at the time. He doesn't crack top 10 even with the ranking revamping him to rank 11.
Khabib was show-casing a little bit like Anderson hanging on the outside-- but it went on for almost 2 rounds and like Joe Rogan essentially said it hurt him because it highlighted the lack of a finish. Shades of Anderson not finishing junk opponents came to mind. He was having great success with bearfucking so I really didn't appreciate the "standup" Khabib gave us due to how long it went on for.

the only high level guy khabib has ever fought was 155RDA, he made RDA look stupid, however 170RDA looks amazing, so idk how khabib does at WW

Im sorry, but Khabib is almost devolving the UFC and MMA at large with the way he goes about winning fights. Bearfucking guys and ragdolling them here and there and just having complete top control the entire contest is impressive, but its not exciting, or compelling to the average viewer.
Its almost like we were experiencing the golden age of MMA during the time of Anderson Silva, GSP, Aldo and other elite guys who were knocking dudes out with high kicks, displaying high level BJJ techniques, world class striking and wrestling. It was like MMA was finally reaching its apex as all of the different disciplines were combining to produce something beautiful and engaging. Then it culminates with Conor McGregor who is predicting how he was going to knock guys out, and then doing it, destroying world class fighters in seconds, and most importantly, fighting with a very fan friendly style that made him a mega star.
Along comes Khabib, who is now the champion, having got there by reducing the cage into his personal wrestling mat where he just levels up the cauliflower level of his ears. Its like the Mongols rampaging across China, decimating thousands of years of culture, knowledge and growth while they impose their own version of society on the lands they conquer.
Thats why I kind of agree with Tony Furgeson and his comments about Khabibs performance. I mean you HAD to give him the belt, but fuck I hope this guy isnt the future unless he learns some kind of striking ability in order to maximize his earning potential because its boring as fuck what he has been doing. Its impressive,its just fucking dull.

He's winning decisively according to the rules of the sport. Nowhere in the ruleset is a requirement to be entertaining. I agree that it doesn't necessarily make amazing viewing, but that's a problem with the rules, not Khabib. You can't incentivize winning with titles and piles of money and then expect the athletes to make high-risk, uncertain tactical choices for entertainment as opposed to maximizing their chance of victory.
Every other sport has made changes to the ruleset to make for better spectatorship. Maybe MMA should move to a Roman "thumbs up, thumbs down" vote after the fight?

To be fair, Khabib is boring as fuck, cuz he's been laying and praying on boring as fuck weak ass opponents.
His best fight was against 155 RDA, i doubt he can do the same to 170 RDA
Khabib won the Fake belt beat the ELEVENTH ranked guy.
