Not crazy at all. Belcher hasn't lost to a real striker in a very long time, and he's a legit top 15 guy. Of course, he hasn't fought a guy with Bisping's high volume game. And Belcher doesn't have the one shot power of a Wandy or Belfort. But here's the main reason Belcher is a good pick: I'm picking Bisping.Would I be crazy to pick Belcher over Bisping? I feel as if this is another fight where I let my hate of Bisping influence my pick. I think Belcher would have a legit shot at beating him though.
Not sure I totally agree with that. Bisping actually believes the shit he spews, while Sonnen knows he is simply selling fights. As for Bisping hate, I've come around on him some. He's just Chael Sonnen with an accent for the most part, a bit less clever but essentially the same.
Why do you think that? He called Lombard a "poison dwarf" whose mom smoked while she was pregnant. He's just hyping fights, this is from the 159 media call thing. Not sure I totally agree with that. Bisping actually believes the shit he spews, while Sonnen knows he is simply selling fights.
When he's not in fight hyping mode he comes off as pretty intelligent and humble. But as soon as there's a fight scheduled he jumps in to full WWE character mode."Let me just add to that," Bisping said. "A win over me for Alan Belcher will be by far the biggest win of his pathetic career. There you go. No one gives a s--- about Alan Belcher."
When Belcher reminded the Brit that meant he better not lose, Bisping was quick to fire off another shot.
"Hey, bro - I ain't going to lose to you, man," Bisping said."It's in the bag. It's a formality. I've just got to show up, slap your little face, take my check and go home."
Because he is fed can after can by the UFC so they can promote it in the UK. He believes the crap he spews, he believes he is a good fighter but at best he is a gatekeeper. He's a dick before fights, He's a dick after fights, not just to the fighters but to the fans and the media (Hamill post fight press conference)Why do you think that? Again, he knows what he's doing. Belcher fight came about because of this, Okami fight too. Eventual Lombard fight will too."I take it as a complement. I've been no stranger to being insulted over the years, so I have very thick skin. These days, when people call me out, I look at it as a complement, because these days when somebody wins a fight, instead of calling out the champion, they call me out. Maybe it's name recognition, or maybe they think I'm an easier fight, but it's all good to me. I'm never going to be short of opponents, because plenty of people want to fight me.To all those people that call me out, I thank you."
lol"He didn't come in there and he didn't put no ass whooping down on me, you know what I'm saying? He didn't come in there and make anything happen. I have never fought somebody before - I have never fought somebody who has ever wanted out of a fight so bad, you know what I'm saying? I was surprised because I went in there - I expected a fight, I expected him to come in and grab me and try to hold onto me or throw some kicks and move, throw some punches and move, but that mother****er was straight running and I had to chase his ass down. I was chasing him that whole fight, you know what I'm saying? I was the aggressor - and I felt I was reckless, you know, I went in there - and how can you not be against a guy who's running scared shitless for his life, you know what I'm saying?
I went in there, I'm chasing him around, I'm over-aggressing trying to get a hold of him, and that's due to why I got hit with some shit you know what I'm saying, because I'm over-aggressing. I'm trying to meet the criteria to win these rounds; the way these rounds and these fights go, I just saw my brother lose to Carlos Condit chasing him around the whole fight, you know what I'm saying? I didn't think for a second that he lost that fight, how are you going to lose a fight when the other guy's backing up?
My corner threw in the towel. The thing with that is, I don't blame anybody for stopping that fight; the ref was doing his job, he thought it looked like it was time to be over and my corner did as well. But at the same time, none of them were in there fighting. [Thomson] won, [he] did a good job getting the fight stopped, you know what I'm saying; he accomplished his mission, he got in there and got the fight stopped. But I'm going to tell you right now - from being in there, I'll tell you right now - he won the fight, but he didn't beat me, you know what I'm saying?
I'll tell you right now that I was all the way in that fight, but the ref - they thought it was time to stop the fight, you know? And whatever, he did a good job he's there to protect the fighters, and my corner too; I'm not mad at them at all for throwing the towel because the difference between our team and most people is that I got some real mother****ers in my corner, my real people who actually care about me."
