So there is an armor set named Brigade, and apparently you get the materials for it from doing the Arena fights. Has anyone done these? All I have in my Optional quests are Special Arena fights, and I've done the ones I've been given so far, but no special materials for that armor set.

Go up to the Gathering place and there's a special arena there with timed quests, and you don't get to choose your gear, you have to choose from presets selected for you.

So have a true newbie question. Been watching projared play this while at work, and in his hunters log thing he has like bunches of information about monsters he killed etc. Including weak areas what they drop. How the hell do I unlock that stuff? I collect all the investigation things I can and have captured and killed a few of the same monsters but haven't unlocked anything new in that section?

Are you talking to the Ecological research guy in the area with the vendors?

Damn, just fought Odogaron for the first time... it is OP. It is the only mob (so far) that has knocked me out twice. Gonna have to start using tricks.

I think I’m a hammer bro. Tried various weapons over my 10 hours of playing. Liked the long sword, greatsword, and SnS, but when I tried the hammer yesterday it just clicked. It feels so powerful, but I’m mobile enough to dodge and roll. KOing monsters when I smash them in the head is so gratifying. Took me this 10 hours of playing over the weekend to just slow down and be intentional with when and where I attack. Before that I would just rush in and spam buttons trying to kill things ASAP, which obviously made me terrible with most weapons. I really wanted to like the switchaxe or glaive but I couldn’t get them to feel natural in the training room like the hammer did...although the glaives aerial mobility was spectacular.

Do you not get bonus loot from a Capture on Rathalos? My first hunt, during the Story quest, I fought a Rathalos and captured it, but no bonus loot like I would expect. Only one common item in the Bonus section.

I am doubling back and farming stuff, doing optionals and helping my brother catch up. Nergigante is towards the end of story mode, not ready to reach it just yet.

Well that was invigorating. I took a stupid 20 minute Hunt Palumu investigation quest to complete a bounty. Not only does that faggot fly across the ENTIRE map every time he runs away. A Tzatziki hung around and continuously blinded me for like 5 minutes.

I had like 30 seconds left to finish the stupid quest when I killed him. It was pretty much bullshit though.

Anyone have a recommendation for which version to get on the 3ds? Have about 16 hours worth of flights/layovers next week and think I'll need a fix while I'm gone. This game has scratched an itch I haven't felt in a long time.

Jailbreak your 3ds and get Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Edit: you don't have to jailbreak your 3ds to play it, I just recommend doing that because it is awesome.

MH3U or MH4U. Generations was okay but added stuff that isn't in any other MH game.
