I looked at a list of the buffs last night and some are really strong. The set im wearing the normal Odogaron is really nice for SnS but getting to high rank now there is new stuff that blows it away.

What I'm most confused about SnS is the high damage slash with down + circle. Not sure why sometimes it doesn't come out and sometimes it works perfect. It seems to work best once im mid combo and then do the command. Janx Janx or some veteran please learn me on how to properly use the super charged slash.

Odagaron set also looks fucking cool.

Back+circle works best used after a command. I usually lead in with triangle+O for the leap in slash then do back+O for the buildup. Instead of using the down slash you can do insane KO buildup by using the downward shield attack on a monsters head and I generally prefer it if I know I'm not going to mount.

It shows on the profile but its not feeding over to the spot below my avatar for some reason. Its Korrupt-44 though for my PSN.

This game is so addicting, got my 2 more RL buddies to buy it last night after they watched me play.

Awesome, add me if you get home first. I can bust out the hunting horn and learn on the lower tier mobs and help you guys get good :)

Damn it does more damage than that slash? the slash is ridiculous damage too. Ill have to learn the shield drop tonight, I don't need to mount its not even as much damage as one charged slash.

Hell yeah, Id love to hunt something wild with a full group. I love the grinding for gear etc in this game, it calms my autism down big time.

I really wanna start playing this but I'm going to clear my backlog first. Is this game going to be around forever, or is it going to be something like WKC where the servers are eventually going to shut down?

Sleep weapon for your cat is amazing. Perfect chance to heal up, drop barrels, sharpen your weapon, then hit him with your strongest ability.

Pretty wild you're on the last boss, saw a video of him last night and it looked like an MMO final boss. I noticed he has an armor set named after him and one for Zorah so Im assuming we can farm them somehow? I fucked up somehow on your invites too and it bugged them out, I think I know what im doing now though on PSN.

I have you on my friendlist on PSN, I just need to invite you to the same session to get you into the squad. Once you beat the final Zorah mission he shows up now and then as an optional quest and you can do it again.

Nergigante is farmable, so I imagine the final boss is too.

Speaking of statuses. Does a thunder weapon trigger the shock paralysis or does it only trigger thunder blight?

I finally figured out how to join online sessions last night, i was a total PSN newbie.

Unfortunately blights are a thing monsters trigger on you only, your elemental damage cannot trigger blights on monsters. So the only way to paralyze is with a paralyze weapon, etc. Elemental damage weapons are just for dealing bonus damage to monsters weak to that element. Generally just grabbing a weapon with the highest raw available is a better choice a lot of the time, although certain weapons like SnS, Dual Blades and LBG can make good use of elemental damage due to how fast they can dish it out. On a slow weapon like say Great Sword, elemental damage is pretty garbage. Status (poison/sleep/paralyze/blast) is always useful though.

I was a full-on hammer bro the first few days, but I changed to sword and shield last night to see what that's all about. If you're new to the series like I am and kind of bumbling around, give sword and shield a shot. The best thing about it is that the sheathe / unsheathe action is damn near instant. You can go from attacking to sprinting (or looting) absurdly fast.

Just think, pick up a new weapon and its almost an entirely new game. Your monster/system knowledge carries over. But the strategy to maximize being amazing changes instantly. I'm pleased, and laughing inside at all you series new comers saying this game is awesome. The series has always had this deep hook, the obtuse nature of it has finally come down, and I do get the modern visuals are a big thing.

I never played mobile shit ever nor had a Wii or anything else this was on! Was always somewhat interested in the series!

I have tried the game on WiiU and 3ds. Those games sucked. The controls were absurdly bad with crazy input lag, horrible animation lock, hell you couldn't even walk while drinking a potion, could you? They were what I classify as "painfully Japanese games" which is a huge genre, in my opinion.

The game on the Wii U was especially bad as it was the one with the underwater battles, which were fucking awful. I wanted to keep playing but just said fuck this after a while. MHW is such a better game, every QoL aspect is a nice change.

I read earlier that some veterans of the series were pissed that the scout flies exist. Because previous versions mean you would just be lost on the map looking for some fucker and never find him. It was so bad that having an actual mentor was almost required to figure out how to play and not be frustrated with just trying to hunt shit. That this was a feature they missed.

Ain't nobody got time for that shit son. Let me follow my magical fireflies and teach them to find shit I want. Hell, you can still get fucked on maps when trying to hunt certain monsters in the 20 minute timer even with max scoutflies if you don't find a track almost immediately.

Meh those vets are morons. Is there things I would change? Yeah. Is it way better than before, especially the QOL changes? Definitely.

Also. I did a number of random SOS call missions to get some mats I needed. Man some people are terribad at this game. I went on a Diablos mission with some dude who had a LBG I think. Second I zone into the quest. He gets carted. We go down to the diablos and I start hammering away at his ass. Busted his horns off and avoiding most of his attacks. Eventually the guy just barrels in and stands there when Diablos combos him and he gets carted again. Then cancels the quest.

On top of that 4/4 of the SOS Rathalos calls I did the guy who made the call didn't have the Northeast camp unlocked. Which makes that entire quest suck dick going up the entire tree from and to his nest.

ZyyzYzzy ZyyzYzzy if you are collecting footprints and stuff with them you still need to go to the Ecology guy who sits in that huge pile of books for the leveling to take effect. Are you doing this?
