Found some of the damage calculation stuff. Wish they would have used the raw weapon data but I guess the new players will get to experience the silliness now too. For as much as they have made the game easier for new players it surprises me this isn't one of the changes.

Pretty cool vid take 3 (maybe its Edge). Charge blade and all 3 desert monsters in a single go. Yup its Edge...it really hates this site.

Tried out dual blades and switch axe tonight and things went much better than with the other weapons I tried. Beat the expert quest in about 10 minutes using dual, which seems pretty good to me since the intermediate quest took me like 16 using Insect Glaive.

Definitely keeping my preorder, and I think I'll put some more time into MH3U on my WiiU to at least brush up on the mechanics. Never really got very far into it before.

Been playing MH3U on Cemu pretty hardcore. Think I did all the main village quests and just hit HR2 in the hunter area and topped the night off with killing Diablos. Waaaaaaaaaaay easier than in MHW.

I'm going to be maining Gunlance but I think the Charge Blade and Switch Axe will be the most powerful. Charge Blade's mobility is insane but it's quite hard to get used to using. Switch Axe hits like a truck and has very little downside.

Dual swords probably do the highest dps.

Of the ranged weapons I like the Heavy Bow Gun the best, although I think the Bow has the highest dps.

I have no idea how anyone can like Hammer or Great Sword, you feel like a snail while playing them, Lance wins the prize for the most boring weapon in the game, and hunting horn wins the prize for the gayest weapon.

Yeah Hammer, Greatsword, Sword/Shield, Normal Lance.... I can't even consider them. Too boring.

I call shenanigans on this. They captured Diablos rather than killing him. Our group got him to rest in the cave too, we could have finished him off like that, but we wanted to actually kill him.

Of course we were noobs and didn't use any additional items other than the game spawns you with. If we knew to use sonic bombs to stop him tunneling it would have been easy.

Bow does a ton of damage one. Two those shock traps stun him for a looooong time.

He was using something else other than shock traps to distract the mob, not sure what it was he kept firing out of the slinger.

Pro performance mode 41-42FPS
Graphics mode 36-37FPS
Resolution mode 31FPS
Base PS4 28-29FPS

Keep in mind it was an old build for press/ showroom but basically the game run with some sort of V-sync OFF with the ps4pro.
But i won't be surprised capcom want the game run @60fps only on PC to make sure Fan "double dip" and re-buy it on PC...

For a person who has never played a Monster Hunter game but who really liked Horizon Zero Dawn (which seemed similar-ish except the monsters were robots) is this a good thing to play co-op with buds? Winter is coming and it'd be nice to have a vegging-out game to play on the PS4.

Had probably the most fun I've had this year in a game playing it with the FoH buds on the weekend, and that was just a demo

Dude its an absolute fucking riot. We'll be forming up a FoH bro guild or whatever they're called in Monster Hunter.

If you're a really big HZD fan you can even use an Aloy skin in Monster Hunter on PS4.

Christ, so it's actually unplayable on a regular ps4 then. Waiting for PC it is I suppose.

Beta was smooth as butter on my regular PS4. They would be cutting out 50%+ of the install base if it ran like dogshit on the older models.
