Unless they changed it, the teaser trailer from the game awards in 2023 showed that it would release on PS5, Xbox series X/S and Steam. I assume that the reason this trailer only has PS5 showing is because it's a Playstation showcase. So hopefully it will be on PC day one and that Sony hasn't paid for timed exclusivity since then.

It’s been a few years since I played this game so I started a fresh run and man I’m having a blast like it was my first time playing it. Gonna do a full only longsword playthrough from start to finish and try to solo everything in the game if possible.

I started a replay a couple months ago when MHW/Iceborne were on sale on steam. It didn’t pull me in quite as much as my first time playing did. I had nearly 1000 hours on PS4, but only played on PC for 20ish hours before putting it down.
I have fun when I’m playing, but without buddies to play with, and already having beaten everything on PS4, it just doesn’t hold me like my first play through did.
I think part of my problem on the replay was that I’m playing Bow to try a new weapon, and it’s just not much fun. I’ve played a ton of the insect glaive and hunting horn, and screwed with lance a decent amount too. Bow just never really feels satisfying. Played dual blades in Rise. Kinda meh on those, I can get the spammy play with the IG while having some reach and a bit more to do managing the kinsect.
Not sure what I’ll play when Wilds comes out. Probably the horn cause it’s so useful in a party, and I’ll be playing with buddies. But if I’m gonna try something new that I haven’t played before, I’m thinking about the Gunlance. Seems to have a very unique gameplay.

I like boinking, so been a hammer bro for last few play throughs in World and Rise. but am always envious of good gs players so hope they lower the barrier of entry to that weapon in wilds so I can finally get into it

Just use it from the start, by the time you hit 80 hours you should be good enough. Takes about that long to master any of the weapons great sword is just the least forgiving mainly because people forget you can block with it.

Weapon is pretty simple really. The issue most people have with greatsword is that they aren't patient, and don't know the monsters movements.

How I feel. The bows just werent fun. I think I just like being up in the mix in any game I play. Hence Ailar ----> Gmok.

New trailer, looks fucking awesome. Also confirms voiced hunter but still able to pick male/female(hunter is a female in this one, was male in previous trailer). Also I didn't watch the stream but supposedly they confirmed both crossplay and simultaneous releases.
