Well that was unexpected. I like the episode, everything inside the tomb was pretty well done and tense. I dislike Steven more as the shows goes on though, even though he realizes that Marc might be better suited for some things like keeping Layla safe, he refuses to relinquish control of the body. He feels pretty selfish, but then I guess that’s what they are working on getting Marc and Steven to work together and use each other’s skills as the situation demands.
yeah, i know what you mean and i think it's one of the issues of having a limited series. the character is pretty complicated but the more time you take to explain, the more it feels dragged out. i think it would benefit the audience to demonstrate more what it's like to be not in control. there's definitely an interesting story just in the idea of a single body being inhabited by more than one person when their goals don't align. what's it like for someone to helplessly sit and watch someone else mess up your life?

the comics had time to play around a lot more with that story without sacrificing the pulpy action that people read comics for in the first place, but the show doesn't really have that luxury

Was halfway expecting that we'd get a
wake up in the asylum
scene at some point, but still, well done. That said, also happy that it looks like they aren't going to belabor the 'what is real?' angle for too long; cool as a WTF moment, but the series is too short to do it as a real plot arc.

I was just about to give up on this series until he was shot. When she decided to confront Marc about her father in the middle of the tomb infested with monsters and mercenaries, I was ready to nope the fuck out. Also, Harrow’s ability to just always appear at the perfect time is absurd. Then he got shot, and maybe it will turn around.

Nice to see Legion season 4. I missed that show.

Much better episode. The only thing that bugged me was a chase scene. Layla runs out of the room with the Mummy like creature 4-5 seconds behind. Next scene she comes up to a pit. She stands looking around for a bit. She then throws a flare to see how far down the pit is. Why did the mummy not catch up? Its a small thing but they really could have done that part better than having the mummy hide out behind a wall.

Best part was the end.

and I get flash backs to a show I watched as a kid in the 70's.....New Zoo Revue.
Holy shit I remember the New Zoo Revue

Nah, next week will be the big episode, 5th episodes in these series usually have a ton of the action setting up the resolution in the finale.

When they pitched this to Oscar Isaac, they gave him the abstract / script for episodes 1 and 5.

I'd also argue that everything at the end of this episode was character development, probably end with a tentative agreement for the dominant personalities to row the same direction, at least for a time to get through this crisis.

I also didn't realize until Charlie's recap that every single person at the end we'd seen at some point before, lol.

A thing that annoyed me a lot at the end there is that they did not release the third personality. After seeing Steven trapped in a sarcophagus, why would you not open up another one? Its like this shit is written for retards.

The third sarcophagus threw me off. Like why did they just walk past it? Was so confused.

Haha, yup. Like a bad case of Vegas herp~

So... a theory going around is that if there's a 3rd personality he is harboring, it was in the sarcophagus that was rattling in that one room as Marc and Steven were trying to escape.

It's clear that this mental ward isn't real... the series isn't going to end with him just being a complete basket case. The only question is what the mental ward represents. Afterlife in Egyptian myth? Construct of his inner mind where he will gain some sort of acceptance / merge of personalities?

Moon Knight isn't dead (unless that Hippo is some egyptian God of rebirth/resurrection)

The third sarcophagus will be Jake. He’s the really sick and twisted one. He’s the personality who kills people when both Marc and Steven are wtf’ing.

Once they let him out shit will kick up a notch.

one theory is that the third personality is the one who killed all the archaeologists, including layla's father. in the comics it was a villain named bushmaster, who is a straight up psychotic murderer. some people are saying that the jake lockley personality is going to be this show's version of bushmaster.

we've seen several pieces of evidence that there's a third personality that both steven and marc are exposed to but very quickly ignore/forget about. could be that marc is actively trying to suppress that personality, and has gotten to the point where he doesn't even remember him anymore but the "pyschic barriers" he put up are still in effect.

there's also the idea of, who is the first personality? people who don't know anythng about the comics assume that steven is the primary, but those that are familiar with the character know that marc is the primary. BUT what if it's jake? what if jake was such a vile, awful person that his conscience couldn't deal with his own actions and created marc to be the good version? still a mercenary, still a badass, but with a heart of gold. then represses jake to the point of him being completely forgotten. maybe that's what the whole asylum is about?
