Fires of Invention definitely leads to really cool looking games, but I can definitely see the higher-cmc weighted decks getting punished hard in serious events.

So the event is up...kind of? It appears you get to try any deck but it does not win you anything and you get 12 games to play. Am I understanding that right? The event actually starts later. Why put a 12 game limit to it?

7-1 in sealed with witch's oven, cauldron familiar, and trail of crumbs jank. Had a Syr Konrad the Grim to complete the tron. Had a piper if the swarm too but it underperformed and never made it past making 1 rat.

There is no way this deck would work past day 1.

this is the first set release this year that i haven't had the money to drop at least a $20 on release. feels bad, tried the ladder and got raped by Oko a few times and gave up lol.

played 5 of my free 12 games so far, brain storming a bit more before i finish my freebies, the opportunity to fuck around is just too cool.

I played some of Caleb's and Bryan's deck. I actually crafted what I was missing from Bryan's deck to play on ladder since I actually opend a shit load of the new cards from that deck and basically no new green cards. Doom Foretold is pretty great.

we'll see how it fleshes out over a few weeks but they really need to chill on making completely retarded 3 mana walkers

I just posted in the other mtg thread but oko's +1 should be a -1

it's like, wtf were they thinking - going to be hillarious when he transitions from these early goofy decks into control

same exact effect but non-repeatable, attached to a fragile enchantment, and without the option of turning your artifacts into elk, costs just one mana less. sure, yeah, gets a card, but meh.

Hm I just started dreaming up a self-mill Dimir deck that runs multiple wincons, focusing on self-mill Jace and Cauldron of Eternity. Can't get past them with your creatures even with the cheap reanimating? Just deck yourself with Jace out.

I was already working on that Jace deck when I realized what a great value add Cauldron could be even if winning with creatures wasn't my end-goal.

First sealed went well last night 7-2 with BG and no real super cards but the cool flash fox guy.

So I feel like BG did well because there’s not many removals per deck (probably 2-3) and black has cheap and good graveyard returns.

Trying br today with knights + this insane 3/3 haste flyer. 3-1 so far but feel like it’s not as good as BG

Played against simic self mill on day 1. Combines the new mirror artifact, Jace, and 4 copies of each fog (why the fuck do they keep printing new fogs). I was stupid and didn't realize I could Oko their mirror and negate it entirely.
