I mean that's almost always how it works early in a format. That said, it runs a lot of actually powerful cards so it'll probably be a "real" deck the whole time.

I agree. I'm not sure if Tier 1 but just having questing beast is a huge boost. The ability to smash 4 damage, kill a PW, and avoid all weenies is huge.

For most players its probably best to wait until after the first big pro event. I accepted that I wasn't going to beat people that spend 40 hours a week playtesting a long time ago.
Even if you are really good and come up with something that is 80% power, someone is going to come up with something that is 97% power.
This applies more to the RL game since cards are pretty easy and cheap to come by in Arena, but if you don't want to spend money and don't grind a lot, just wait.

The problem with this is Ego is trash against most decks so you're talking about sideboard? and it doesn't do anything about a field already in play.

It's everywhere in mythic ranked. Most people do it base bant with a some real minor splashes.
