I know, 2 mana vampire lord too. If they had granted evasion I'd be worried someone on wotc dev team had died.

Elenda is super underwhelming at first blush, but Aristocrats cards always are. If a functional aristocrats deck pops up in standard during her legality, she doubles your "fodder" for the big turn, which has been enough of a reason to run a poopy 4 drop before.

She's pretty neat with auto-attaching Equipment. A shame Hero's Blade isn't around for her.

mtg arena is going to suck for anyone that cares about MTG and can play it

can't set stops during phases, only ixilan available, kek

call me jaded, but i don't even read the hype about 10$ cards that will be reprinted 4 times in 5 years

Huh? There's a 'full control' mode that lets you basically manually control priority passing that you can toggle on/of. That's functionally the same thing as setting stops.

They stated ahead of time Ixilan was only set to start, but they'd be releasing more over time, obviously.

and I have no idea what the $10 card comment meant in relation to mtg arena.

He's the forums resident "Cards That Dont Turn A Profit Arent Worth My Time" guy.

The UG fish lord is pretty cool. My friend has been a Merfolk dude for years and has been trying the UG version. I'd guess you cut some Merrow Reejereys for the new guy.

I like Deadman's Chest, but I know it'll never get played.

The rare time it exiles a major win condition isn't valuable, the fact that it's a combo card that does nothing to the board when cast hurts it so bad. Add in the idea that you shouldn't need your opponent's "good cards" (because he's trying to win, of course he's playing good cards), since you *should* be playing your own good cards.

Meanwhile in garbage fire WotC decided to ignite by banning a prominent youtuber continued to grow. Resulting in his channel being banned temporary. Creating massive attention for youtuber and exactly the type of publicity Hasbro doesn't want.

But they're run by SJWs, the real pros at interneting and public relations. There's no way this could be going badly for them.

I like how in every video for this he repeatedly states "this is about saving the children not some personal vendetta," then every third paragraph of his script is bitterly bitching about his own kick.

The Ricki Hayashi shit is fucked up though. Wife Beater who apparently likes getting into relationships with people who are his direct inferiors in the Judge program does not sound like a healthy individual to have in a position of power if you want your company to be considered a safe place for women. It's a shame this info isn't coming from a neutral party, but rather one the MTG community is incentivized to ignore due to past behavior.

Riki is an extremely well respected judge and works for SCG, not WotC. He's hugely influential in how the program is run. I've never heard anything about his personal life like that though.

Wait wait wait, are we gonna get a Harvey Weinstein scandal of the judge world out of this? Because that would be fucking hilarious.

Dinosaur rampant growth might actually make that deck work. Relatively reliable to hit it with 12 dinos, and there's easily 12 playable dinos you can run.

It's amusing how hard this fucks the best lands in the game (Fetch Lands), but how much it boosts the worst lands in the game (Budget ETB lands). Karoos just straight up become double mana lands while this is out. Most of the 5 color lands become drawback free.

Normally you say something's going to be an EDH staple when it's a bad card, but in this case this shit's going to be an EDH staple for being great. It's the format with the highest concentration of utility land usage as well as "drawback" duals usage, and the lowest concentration of fetch lands in mana bases.

This has modern and potentially even legacy applications as well. Tron can run this to wrench up enemy mana while protecting its own tron from ghost quarter for example.

Shuts off wasteland in legacy which would potentially be a very real thing. Maybe good vs lands.dec, but seems risky if they ever clear it cause their dark depths would have no counters and go 20/20 immediately.

Yep, just makes them colorless producing lands.

It also turns any Cavern of Souls that come down after it into Wastes.

The updated Ixalan rules for shocks etc also should let lotus vale cheat in with blood sun in play. City of traitors won't sac, scorched ruins won't require a sac, etc. Some potentially hilariously legacy applications where you can like turn 1 city of traitors chrome mox/spirit guide blood sun > turn 2 lotus vale play stormbreath dragon or trinisphere or whatever.

Nope. Lotus Vale/Scorched Ruin are replacement effects that occur too early in the play process for Blood Moon/Sun to see them. They were specifically worded the way they were in their gatherer updates to avoid the funkiness of their effects going off while they were in play. They don't "modify *how* they would enter", but rather *if*

Hooray for cards printed under different rules/templating structures having really weird updated wordings in order to maintain intended function.

They changed that specifically when Ixalan launched in a rules update. Replacement effects get blanked by stuff like blood/sun moon now, shocklands come in untapped without paying life, cavern of souls doesn't get to pick a creature type, karoo lands enter untapped and don't bounce anything etc.
