There is a local gaming store but I don't think the people there are very friendly. Me and a buddy tried to start Warhammer 40k once, I wanted to spend hundreds of dollars in there store and it was work trying to get help. That was a while ago but I guess I should try again.

Check on starcitygames.com for events near you also. It's a good way to locate shops you might not know exist.

I might regret it later, but I flipped a pair of True-Name Nemesis for a Jace, the Mind Sculptor earlier today. Values are relatively even, but it follows me general rule of always trying to trade less expensive cards for more expensive ones.

Hot damn. You got a great deal! True Name is down to $35 on eBay (and still dropping as they're being printed) or $30 with a bunch of other cards at Target. You'd still be lucky to find a Jake for $80 and especially if you got a WWK one instead of FTV20, those are more valuable even though less shiny. Price on Jake has been relatively stable for the last 2+ months. If you start to feel the trader's remorse, you could always flip it back via eBay and pocket some extra money.

Yeah, the plan is to flip the Jace into something else when I find a good home for it. I don't have the necessary blue lands or FoW to support him in Legacy, so he's mostly just for the trade binder.

TNN is almost definitely getting banned in legacy soon so I'd dump them.

If it does, it will be because it is dominating the meta rather than winning every match. There were 4 Delver decks in the last top 8, which is dumb but not that much different than deathblade/stoneblade before. Most folks have adjusted by now. It's not Mental Misstep bad (though it is EXTREMELY annoying).

It's going to be banned because it makes magic look bad on camera and because pros write articles complaining about it.

If you have no Black Mana then I would suggest that you take Profit//Loss out. There are always a bunch of similar effects in white, I use Fortify which is usually much more powerful.

Wavecrash Triton and Battlewise Hoplite aren't going to do much with only 6 ways to turn them on. If you want a Heroic Deck then focus on just that and have more spells in it, have a search for "WU Heroic" online.

If you want an Aggro/Control deck then you need to go for Mono Blue Devotion, again search for some lists online this time you'll find tournament winning decks. Adding White is just making the deck worse, you don't need EVERY card to tap their creatures. What'll happen is that they will just attack you and have them tapped already and you'll die first with your weaker cards. Control decks will have nothing for you to tap.

I appreciate that you want to make your own deck, I do this myself, but starting with lists which already work is really helpful in giving you ideas.

Most of the successful heroic decks that I've seen in standard have been red and white. I mean they're still tier two, if that, but they have been putting out 3-1 results at my local FNM. The reason for red is things like Young Pyromancer, Coordinated Assault, Akroan Crusader (though a few heroic players I know dislike the card), etc. For Heroic to become a Tier 1 deck it needs a few more one mana heroic enablers, which I think will be coming in the next two sets.

Also, for the pure lulz: Zhur-Taa Druid + Triton Tactics + Elite Arcanist.

Fabled Hero also. He gets... big. Really big, really fast. I've seen some serious damage come from him before. You're vulnerable to the same blowouts that Silverblade Paladin was, but we're talking tier 2 anyway.

True, though none of the people I know playing the heroic decks use him main deck because he's too slow at three mana for what they want to do.
