What makes me laugh is that his opinions on LeBron are usually pretty spot on and intelligent. It's everything else that makes you eyeroll.

I used to get negged here anytime I brought up Mippo. I loved how easy it was to bait that dude into writing 10,000 word long posts.

Gaige, I just want to make sure you realize that you are the worst kind of fan. Anyone that will type the novels that you do to defend every supposed injustice or unkind word laid at the feet of your team and then type some shitty little remark like this as bait is as passive-agressive as it gets. I liked Lebron until The Decision and then still respected how he played basketball because he is amazing. After two years of reading your Heat defense thesis and then kneejerk shitposting on other teams, I now want the Heat to lose every game just so you will shut the fuck up.

Let's make one thing clear: the Heat are not a dynasty, they are a collection of great and good players that are having an amazing decade. It will end and then you will either man up and stay here when they are middle of the road playoff team or you will flee in embarassment and lurk/troll this thread much less often. Either way, it cannot come soon enough so that I can start enjoying these season long threads again.
You must have missed the posts where he openly admits he is not a Heat fan, he is a Lebron fan. So once Lebron moves on from the Heat, so will Gaige. So yes you are correct, he is indeed the worst kind of fan.

The worst kind of fan does exactly that but spends his time scanning the crowd for underage girls to hit on.

Before Lebron, he said he was a huge Jordan fan back in the day (I'm guessing most of us were growing up?). His rooting interest is Lebron succeeding and looking good doing so. He could care less how the Heat do. If Lebron puts up 40/12/8 but the Heat lose in the last second or lose by 20, doesn't really matter to him. And I guess that's okay. It's the blaming of every single other thing in the universe other than Lebron than is nauseating. He's blamed Wade, Bosh, Allen, Miller, the refs, Spoelstra, Pat Riley, dirty players on opposing teams, etc etc list goes on and on. Never, ever, EVER does Lebron get labeled as a failure, even when it's obvious to everyone else in the universe that he was the problem that night.

99% of us here are guys and we look at things statistically, logically, emotionless. Slaythe is a great example of this. Completely opposite, Gaige is all emotion/adoration/love. No matter what, this one person can do no wrong no matter what.

Unrelated, how I picture Gaige:

Just out of curiosity...what did you do before you had ever heard of Lebron James? Or was that when you started watching basketball?
I rooted for Michael Jordan! Before that I was too young.

^ he was probably a Lakers fan.
Nope I've always hated Kobe and the Lakers, and I even lived right outside LA for 10 years! I couldn't stand the fact that people compared Kobe to Jordan or the fact that Kobe ran Shaq/Jackson off. I just hate Kobe. Dunno why, always have. He's a cocksucker.

You guys can call me bandwagon all you want (especially since I rooted for the Celtics that first year - after LeBron was eliminated at least) but the fact is until two years ago rooting for LeBron was anything but bandwagon because he sucked complete ass in the playoffs year after year /shrug.

It will end
Everything ends. If you paid attention here you'd also know that I'm a Heat fan second and a LeBron fan first. If LeBron didn't go to the Heat I wouldn't even bother watching them tbh.

However I have probably 9 years left of riding LeBron's jock and now he has at least two rings so therefore shit talking him is pretty retarded. So just sit back and relax, I'm not going anywhere. OMG WHAT IF LEBRON GOES TO THE CLIPPERS!?

Does kind of bug me because I don't ever expect to see a Timberwolves championship. I'll settle for making the playoffs while Love is still here.

There it is. A basketball fan that rooted for MJ and then replaced him with Lebron is not a basketball fan, it is simply someone that casually watches a game they don't understand very much to see the once every half century superstars ply their craft. You feel about basketball how the rest of us feel about the gold medal winners in the Olympics but you take too far. Sure, we act like armchair quarterbacks because that is what sports fans do; but we also realize that we are out of our depth arguing how trancendent Usain Bolt is compared to the past, present, and future of sprinters becuase no one is a die hard sprinting junkie. You are out of your depth arguing about basketball absent Lebron becuse you are a Lebron fan, not a basketball fan.

Basketball fan.

Meh, I can't get mad at celebrating greatness. I'm okay with rooting for Jordan/Lebron instead of laundry. Like Slaythe said...it's everything else.

As for the "most guys are emotionless" thing...I don't know, I've found that most guys are irrational when it comes to their favorite teams. Very few fans can distance themselves enough that they can view their favorite team objectively. I saw this a lot when I was living in Southern California with Lakers fans...same thing listening to sports radio here in Texas. It swings the other way, too...when their teams are bad, the world needs to burn. I think sports are where a lot of men are the most emotional.

(We have a lot more of the INTP types on this board, so maybe it's not as bad here usually, but the last few pages were bordering on Skip Bayless/Stephen A levels of hyperbole.)

I rooted for the Sonics back in the 90s, then the Cavs when they got Kemp. Then nobody. Now I just enjoy the game. I adopt a team every year around playoff time.

I think the NBA is actually more enjoyable if you focus on the spectacle and the funny little side stories rather than being emotionally invested in one team.

I used to only give a shit about NBA playoffs until I adopted the Warriors as my team. Now NBA can be a lot more frustrating to watch.

18 of my 28yrs of being alive I've been a Lakers fan. Prior to that I was a Barkley/Suns fan(mainly cause my dad was a big Charles fan.). Never liked my hometown Cavs.
