No they didn't did you watch the game? They didn't protect the rim at all the only reason the Nets were in the game were stopping the Heat in transition and fast breaks and Joe Johnson and Deron Williams hitting some threes. Lets break down the facts. Lets take a look at the second quarter of their 24 points Miami had 6 layups (12 points), 5 free throws (5 points), 1 three (3 points), and 2 long twos (4 points). Clearly they were in attack mode and didn't take many threes. Meanwhile of Brooklyn's 23 points they had 4 threes (12 points), 3 long twos (6 points), 1 layup(2 points), and 3 free throws (3 points). Miami was getting points at the hoop all night not just in the third and forth when the game was out of hand. With 3:19 to go in the second quarter Miami had an 11 point lead before Brooklyn had a run and hit a few threes to put the game within reach. In no way did the Nets do a good job stopping the Heat from getting the basket the only thing they did a good job of was running back on defense to prevent easy transition and fast break points.
