I miss those days too. Now I have to deal with fuckbags like you and Ambit. The Nets guarded the post extremely well only allowing 52 points in a 21 point ass whipping at the hand of the defending champs. Jesus Christ. Some of you need to stay the fuck out of this thread. I have a feeling about 4 more games and you'll be gone till next year anyway.

Wanna talk about Hibbert's 0 points 0 rebound game 1?

I'll put it into terms you can comprehend.

It's clearly the refs fault for giving him 5 quick fouls! They're obviously biased and want the series to go 7 games!!!

No they didn't did you watch the game? They didn't protect the rim at all the only reason the Nets were in the game were stopping the Heat in transition and fast breaks and Joe Johnson and Deron Williams hitting some threes. Lets break down the facts. Lets take a look at the second quarter of their 24 points Miami had 6 layups (12 points), 5 free throws (5 points), 1 three (3 points), and 2 long twos (4 points). Clearly they were in attack mode and didn't take many threes. Meanwhile of Brooklyn's 23 points they had 4 threes (12 points), 3 long twos (6 points), 1 layup(2 points), and 3 free throws (3 points). Miami was getting points at the hoop all night not just in the third and forth when the game was out of hand. With 3:19 to go in the second quarter Miami had an 11 point lead before Brooklyn had a run and hit a few threes to put the game within reach. In no way did the Nets do a good job stopping the Heat from getting the basket the only thing they did a good job of was running back on defense to prevent easy transition and fast break points.

I think the Nets made a mistake by sweeping the Heat in the regular season. Now Miami is going to be pretty amped up for them all series (as shown in game 1), and I think they are going to pretty well dominate them.
Stats say it helps their chances to win the series.

My mistake, I meant at the rim when I said in the post.

But while they gave up an astonishing 5 layups in the second quarter, the Heat didn't make a single dunk and also missed 3 layups, had 2 drives to the rim result in turnovers, and 1 that was called a charge. First quarter they only gave up 2 layups and the Heat didn't score a dunk until halfway through the third. That and Deron/Johnson's miracle 3s were the only things keeping the Nets in the game at all.

Even in the fourth quarter where Heat went from "comfortable lead" to "absolute blowout" they hit 7 20ft+ jumpers in a row (plus free throws) over a 7 minute stretch.

You're the only person who thinks 52 points in the paint translates into defending the paint well. Also no mention of Kidd and the Nets literally giving up at the start of the 4Q? Pierce/Garnett didn't play at all in the 4Q and it was only a 13 point lead. What team gives up in the playoffs?

Was there anything worse than listening to Kerr give his 2 minute talk about how officials will even out the game if they feel they made bad calls? That is definitely what everyone wants to hear. All of our bitching about reffing in the NBA validated since we always knew that those striped bastards just call the game however the fuck they want and don't pay attention at all to what is actually happening.

Did anyone not know that was happening? I had that exact conversation with a coworker at lunch today arguing whether it was right to try to fix a blown call or not. There's no question of if it happens or not.

But, yeah...fuck Reggie. Webber is monotone, but at least he brings something to the commentary. Shaq needs to get the fuck off of Inside the NBA, too...ruining the best studio show on television with his bullshit.

In regular seasons games I almost feel like make up calls are just a little mini game the ref crews play with each other. Kenny Mauer blows a call on one end of the court so Malloy comes down and calls some bullshit the next possession. Then the next timeout there's something like, "I got you good on that one Kenny, you fucker!" before play resumes.

I wish we could have Jim Barnett commentating on every game. Dude is a badass analyst. I'm glad the Warriors get him for all their games. Although, it'll be a somewhat limited capacity next season (supposedly).
