I'd argue that Kobe has never been a super star but Pharazon would then get mad so we don't have to get into that.

Monta has played well through a dozen or so games. I don't expect him to keep that up.
I dont care about kobe as a player, but its hard to argue the fact that he was a super star. Winning that many rings as the main player earns you that status.

Kevin Martin out indefinitely with a wrist fracture. Our top 4 players are all injured... sigh.
It's not like it really matters for this season but yeah it is frustrating. It seems nearly impossible for the Wolves to ever field a healthy team. We were in the playoff hunt the year Rubio tore his ACL (21-19 then we won a whole 5 games the second half of the season). We most assuredly would have been there 3 years ago with the Kirilenko team where Love broke his hand. And Pek missed 30 games last year. Shit luck.

Yeah, Monta fit in well last year and it's more of the same so far this year.
Ehhh. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one guys. I don't want to get into a huge argument though. I'll just say I don't think he's the most efficient offensive player in the world (especially for a guy that's going to lead your team in shots) and he's a poor defender. He played better last year than he had in a while. I still don't think he's that great. Can't really complain with the situation the Mavs are in though and the contract they got him on. He's probably worth that.

So 3 of those rings he played alongside Shaq who was without question the superior player. That isn't arguable. The one I'll get flack for is saying that I think Gasol had more to do with the other two championships, but we've been there done that before.

Mavs offense is a juggernaut.
Yup, it's almost like watching the Spurs from the last couple of years, only with Monta doing Monta things and still being efficient. It's hilarious that the Spurs/Mavs awesome offenses are awesome to watch but the Rockets, who are just as efficient, are awful to watch because they just shoot quick shots and get fouled all the time.

I'm looking forward to the tears from the high seed that gets knocked out by the Thunder in the first round. (Looking at you, Mavs fans)

Until then, I'm going to continue to be amazed that Lance Thomas is starting for an NBA team.

Cavs really need to start winning games... We've been playing tough teams, this is true, but we're also losing games we should be winning. It's still really early in the season but they need to get things turned around now.

I think it's going to be too late. We're still over a month away before KD or Westbrook come back. And who knows how they'll be playing then. It may take time for them to get back to form. Think about it. With this terrible start, they'll need to finish the rest of the season 45-23 or something similar. Other teams in the West are too good to allow them to catch up.

Yeah, I also think there's a very good chance they don't make it at all. Warriors, Clips, Blazers, Mavs, Griz, Rockets, Spurs, Pelicans??? I think those teams make it. Kings and Suns will end up with better records than a number of EC playoff teams and be left on the outside. Things can change a bit, but it's going to be extremely difficult for Durant and Westbrook to come back in a month + and dig themselves out of the hole they're going to be in. It's not like when Durant and Westbrook come back they're going to win win win. It'll take some time to get back into the flow, and even then they're going to be playing so many games against all the very good teams above. Even if Okc were at full strength they could lose any given game against just about any of the above teams.

I actually think the best case scenario for OKC in the long-term is to end up with a Top 5 draft pick and hire a new training staff. I really hope they're not going to rush Durant back before he's ready...it would suck to see this turn into another injury.

Also, Raptors are still #1 in the East. #2 overall behind only the Grizzlies...who we beat.

Thing about your Raps is Lowry, while great, isn't going to keep up the insane production he has so far and neither is Lou Williams. However, it's great to see Jonas V playing so well. As I've said in the past, his development is the whole key to just how good the Raptors can become.

Lou Williams will regress, but Lowry isn't doing much more than last year right now...points are up, assists are down, TOV are down, 2% is up, 3% is down, FT% is down. It's a mix...yeah, his PER and WS's are up, but not so much to think he's not going to continue to play around that level.

I'm actually a tad disappointed with JV...not sure what development you're talking about. His per36 stats are almost exactly what they were last year. He's had some really rough games and a couple good ones. I'm hoping the Grizzlies game was a turning point, but we'll see. I'm glad he's posting up more instead of doing that horrible shot fake from 15 feet all the time, but he still brings the ball low on rebounds (especially offensive boards) and it drives me nuts.

Biggest improvement I see is he's getting to the line at a significantly higher rate which is pretty important for a big man's efficiency. I'm not quite sure why his minutes are so low though.

If Lowry shoots 55% from 2s and has a 6:1 assist to turnover ratio at the end of the year you can tell me you told me so, but neither of those are actually going to happen.

6:1.5, which is 4:1, but who's counting? His 2% will go down and his 3% will go up. His assist/TO ratio will probably go down to closer to 3:1, but my point is he's playing great, but not "insane." The regression to the mean isn't that significant in his case. I agree Lou Williams is playing insane, especially the last few games, and that won't continue.

DeRozan needs to stop settling for fadeaway jumpers and attack the hoop more. Ross is starting to come into his own the last few games. The HUGE problem for the Raptors right now is rebounding. Especially if Amir or JV are out, they get destroyed on the boards. They're not fighting for the 50/50 rebounds and get killed by teams that know how to position/block out.

The Warriors are killing it. I'm loving watching them right now. Warriors were down 16 to the Heat midway through the 2nd. Ended up winning by 17. Steph Curry is playing the best ball of his career right now.
