If you believe he's going to walk, then you want to be as bad as possible, which means getting nothing in return. If your goal is to not be in the middle of the pack, then maximizing your return for Love is counterproductive.
But how good is Wiggins going to make the Wolves this year? serious question? They win more games with Love than they do with Wiggins. So trading Love for Wiggins gets them a possible star down the line and mostly likely a better chance at the lottery and a few 1st rounders from the Cavs last time I read the potential deal? Not to mention the risk of losing love anyway. I swear I'm not trolling with this post. lol. I'm just providing a different view. Looking at next years draft with guys like Okafor sitting there, it might not be that far fetched. Yes, you lose love but pick up Wiggins and make a run at the lottery. If next year, you're starting Wiggins and a top 5 draft pick, are you really not liking your situation?

It's going to be an interesting season this year in the NBA. I'm really looking forward to see how all these moves pan out

If they can get Wiggins, sure. He's the only guy worth having this discussion about, though. The Bulls offer makes them middle-of-the-pack forever. Same with Warriors and the other Cavs offers. Only player being mentioned that has even a chance of being as good as Love is Wiggins, so that trade changes the equation.

But going back to my scenario...if you have one of the top records in the West come January...it's hard to make that trade knowing you've already lost your chance at a top pick in the next draft plus you might roll the dice that winning cures all and Love is fine re-signing.

The difference just seems negligible to me unless Wiggins becomes a superstar, so it really just matters on how highly you rate him as a prospect. Personally, I don't deny his potential but don't really think he did anything at Kansas to show he'd get there. At the same time, he didn't show anything to say he wouldn't either. I think he's just pretty far from a sure thing.

So do everything I possibly can to keep a guy that is already a super star? Or trade him for a guy that might be one? Worst case scenario Love walks and we're tanking had we traded him or not. Again, just don't see much of a difference (unless Wiggins goes nuts then I eat crow).

He usually kind of sucks, but I gotta say that's a solid impression.

It also looks like he's lost a lot of weight.

Other teams have made offers without the required stipulation that he agrees prior to re-sign. That includes Boston. I think a Cavs deal for Wiggins ends up happening but he doesn't hold enough leverage here to demand them and only them.

Here's the video if people haven't seen it. Really horrible and hope he recovers quickly.

On the up side, there are professional athletes that recovered from a tibia-fibula double fracture. Soccer player Djibril Ciss? comes to mind (took him 'only' 6 months to recover). In a way it's a 'cleaner' problem than stuff with ankles, knees, shoulder or spine that are very complex systems.

I know nothing about NBA contracts, since this happened during USA basketball and if he's out for an entire NBA season does he lose a years wages?

No, he will still get paid (else no way the players would go to non-NBA tournaments). His salary will also be paid via insurance if he misses enough time.
