I can't blame them for keeping their prices high if people are going to continue to be so easily parted with their money. I have already seen a handful of Drizzt clones, and as far as I know you can only get that setup dropping $200 on the pack. People that stupid deserve to get taken for a ride.

When it comes to F2P setups I have just set a personal limit for myself. I absolutely will not go beyond $20 a month. If I am having a great time I will try to make at least a small purchase monthly as a show of support. Those people who end up with $100+ monthly bills need to learn some fucking self control is all. I have never broken my rule even when I really wanted too. These games only get expensive if you let them.

Unless you're posting this from a timeline where everyone has the exact same yearly salary and the same bills you should be aware of the fact that different people have vastly different amounts of disposable income. Your $20 could easily be someone else's $100.

So if I remember correct, to unlock the Nightmare mount from one of those boxes was just 1 key which costs 125 zen, which would make the nightmare $1.25 basically. Does that sound right, or and I remember shit wrong? Or does opening those boxes give you a random item from the list and the nightmare is one of the possibilities?

That is not really the point. The point is that F2P is as expensive as you make it. If someone wants to drop $100+ monthly then so be it, but they don't really have a leg to stand on if they want to bitch about how expensive everything is. Not saying anyone here is doing that, but I have seen that shit happen a lot since F2P became popular. It irritates me heh. Even more so when it is someone who doesn't really have the money to spend. Don't even get me started on the woman in my GW2 guild who put something fucking retarded like $300 dollars on her credit card for dye packs, but also bitched about being broke all the time. /rant

One key gives you the ability to open one box. There are about 10 possible rewards from the boxes, most of which are garbage. So $1.25 gives you a very small chance at the mount.

If it is anything like Star Trek Online the keys are only obtainable thru the Zen store or the auction house.

I believe every boxes give you those metal bars things and once you have enough you can buy shit, so even when you lose you slowly build toward something, which is a good system to get people to buy more keys. I've found the keys to be reasonably priced, they're the same as dota2 keys and I assume TF2 keys, so about the norm, maybe I'm wrong though.

Also yeah keys can't drop. You can convert AD to zen to buy them but that's probably not worth it.

Ah, that makes a little more sense. Personally, I don't have a set limit per game or per month, but I do have to feel like I'm getting the right value for every dollar. Which is why I can drop $60 on a founders pack, but still think most of the prices in the Zen store are a bit steep. Same way I'll sub for a month to APB, or rent a gun for 30 days, buy car parts, but never even be tempted to drop $40-50 on a single permanent gun. Whereas if the perm guns were $5 a piece, I'd probably have bought half a dozen.

Someone said in general chat today that the keys can also drop? Anyone confirm if that is rumor or not?
I'd bet on it being a rumor. I've ran all the epics up to the 8800 GS requirement ones and haven't seen one drop (or heard from anyone reliable that one did for them).

It's also correct that every box gives 100 of some form of currency (don't remember which since servers are down) - I don't believe the mount or companion can be used to buy it with said currency although I could be mistaken on that. I've bought about 20 keys without spending any real cash just by playing the AH game, so there's always that method of getting them.

The blue stealth bar is really killing me. You can move every UI element but for some dumb reason we can't move that bar. Even in STO I moved all those bars out of the way and into more intuitive locations.

Wondering if the one dev that lurked the FOH forums lurks around here so he can see this:

-Let us move that fucking stealth bar-

Tried the GWF even though you guys were saying it's kinda meh early on. I don't mind being gimped for a while, but I just couldn't get into his fighting style. I think I prefer the tumble of the trickster which allows me to tumble in a single key press combo, as opposed to having to dash. The tumble makes it much easier for me to judge how much stamina I have. The other at-will power you get early on, I forget the name, but the one you have to charge up, just isn't doing it for me. The gameplay is too fast and frantic to really have such an ability. I can see it coming in handy during boss fights, but 90% of the content this early is solo waves of mobs

well, this game is just about destroyed for me. i really enjoy it, but i am weaning myself off of it within the next couple of days until the fundamentals of the game economy are changed (likely never)

just read a thread where people did some math on how much it would cost to enchant high level gear... $640.00 for ONE piece, because apparently at higher level the chance to fuse the lesser gems is 1%, which essentially forces you to buy the $10 item that gives you a 100% chance. you have to repeat this several times to get a greater gem, making each tier until the end about 200 dollars. i explained that horribly, partially because i am really tired and also because i am not sure if i even understand it myself, im too busy scratching my head in disbelief.

the funny thing is, the guy who posted this paid for the $200 pack, i bet he is pissed

That does sound retarded but then again no one knows how good these are compared to shitty everyday enchants.

I saw the enchant shit coming from a mile away.
Combines with an increasing chance of failure each tier + cash shot items to make the combine a 100%? I see what you did there PW.

Glad I went into this game only interested in player-made content though. I've been having a blast, idgaf about late game because I really have no interest in the game itself. Just playing something until Wildstar.

I think this game is a slap in the face for both D&D fans and mmorpg fans. This is a fastfood dumbed down version of both. I hate it.

Funny I'm doing same thing. Honestly are people finding anything late game that requires spending money on to do? Or is it all just things that would make the game easier to get?

I havent actually played, will play some because a friend of mine loves his D&D and NWN and will play this, and I'm sure for some casual playing its fine. Question is, what did you expect? This isnt exactly a AAA release. Xzi has the right mind to it I think.

Yeah only an idiot would spend $600 to min-max enchants for gear in a casual dungeon runner MMO. I'm sure whatever enchants you can cobble together for free are good enough.
