Quick question about Krono. I see these are being traded around for plat and items. I am trying to wrap my head around how they are brought into the game. The only option I see is directly from SoE / DB shop for a flat $17.99 price (no Station Cash / DB bucks). So my question is, how are people selling Krono for as little as $7 USD on "other" websites. How are they being obtained so cheaply to turn a profit?
People buy Kronos for plat and then sell it for USD. The people selling the Kronos aren't the ones that bought them in the first place.

The original USD price on them doesn't mean much since it's really about how fast you can farm plat in order to make the Kronos vs time investment worth it

Because they are not server specific.
Right, but that still does not answer my question. The only option I see to buy Krono and get them into the game is directly from the Daybreak website for $17.99. How are people selling these for as low as $7 a pop on reseller websites? If you could buy the Krono with Station Cash / DB money, I would understand as they occasionally do double / triple SC offers. BUT, I only see Krono for sale from the website direct for $17.99.

Are you implying people just have spare Krono laying around and eating the >50% loss on their cost?

Was there some dupe that flooded the market with Krono?

Just trying to figure out the math here. It just seems like a shitload of Krono are floating around the market and at some point SOMEONE had to pay the ~$18 for them. Otherwise, they were duped in some fashion.

There's just tons and tons of plat out there for some of these people. A new player buys a krono for $18, sells it to them for a few million pp (I think 2m pp last I checked a few months ago?) to get a gigantic nest egg to start off with and then that plat which the farmer had done basically nothing for [sold a couple high end items or whatever] can turn around and sell it for whatever he wants.

Gotcha. I was just trying to see if there was an alternate way of obtaining them that I was missing. Makes sense.

yeah, the above posts are right... when you're RMTing, krono are worth more IRL $s than their cost in platinum. for whatever reason.

Krono has erased traditional RMT. Want a new character? Open a fresh account and pay someone X krono to log in and "PL" it to max level. It's blurred the lines of what's against the rules quite a bit, I think the only actual offense is buying or selling the krono for real money. But all other transactions are legit. They are basically daybreaks way to tax the rmt operations.

LJ raiding isn't that bad. My guild has had plenty of stuff to do during prime time. If we had a force just a couple of hours earlier(even an hour in lots of cases) it would be easy to get dragons or gods. We've gotten plenty of sky time too.

I don't know what all MM has been getting, but it doesn't seem like much... still kinda baffled by the decision but honestly I think it's worked out well for guilds like mine.

Man I forgot about SoD. How is it doing? I had a 30ish necro and shaman a few years ago and got a kick out of it. Didn't really find any friends though so burnt out on the solo game. I still thought it was cool how they used EQ assets to make up new content.

Lockjaw Kunark Launch vote is up. We can either have it launch on November 2nd or on December 14th. I predict November 2nd will win by a landslide. Hope all you LJ RR bro's are ready!

SoD is pretty dead. I played from 2005-2014, on and off the last 4 years. It barely gets above 100 players now during prime time, which is quite sad. The problem is after Wiz left, development kind of went in different directions, and it seems like devs never chatted with one another in regards to what they were doing. When a dev would leave the team or disappear, their content would mostly go untouched. If something broke, it either took forever to fix or never got fixed. Really sad to see what it has become today.

If anyone is starting up and looking for a competent crew of dudes to roll with, we formed up <Stone Roosters> tonight. Send a tell in game to Drapo, Htoo, Tapein, or Rascal.

I'm really happy the grind isn't exactly like classic. We busted out 16 levels tonight, loving that.

Plus you're about to do it all again when progression 4.0 wipes out progression 3.0 and the EQ server graveyard expands.

Do people even play on Fippy?

I'm not sure how well 4.0 will do without boxing, especially if it starts in classic again.

Citizen still plays on Fippy, they've been in the same expansion for like five months now though. I hear they might be calling it quits or something soon and coming to Lockjaw.

They went back on revising the timetables for Lockjaw (possibly, depending on the vote) - either the NoBot server gets extra xpacs at launch or a faster timetable (or both) - they've seen how poorly thought out 6 months was. [And frankly, Kunark seems logical as a start point for it since it's got "enough" content to keep people busy constantly with instancing until they're done gearing - unless they put instanced Sky on with a daily repop (which I can't see happening even if it is appropriate to the normal form) there will be "I play for 2 days a week" routines for those that binge a massive couple days]
